However, the reason for this is a rumor, due to which the stock is seeing a rise. It is being told that veteran cricketer Sachin Tendulkar has invested in RRP Semiconductors.

The company told the truth

“We believe this is the reason why the company’s share prices have seen an unprecedented surge in the last 10 months – from Rs 10 to Rs 9,000,” it said in a filing to the exchange on Tuesday. Tendulkar has never purchased any shares of the company. He is not a shareholder of the company.” RRP Semiconductors further said that Sachin Tendulkar is not directly or indirectly associated with the board members nor is he a part of the board, nor is he in any advisory role. He is also not a brand ambassador of the company.

According to the BSE website, as of June 30, 2025, promoters held 1.28 percent stake in the company, while the remaining 98.72 percent stake was held by common investors. Furthermore, RRP Semiconductors also clarified that it has not received 100 acres of land from the Maharashtra government for any type of plant. There was also a rumor that the company is going to invest Rs 5000 crore for a semiconductor facility in Maharashtra and for this, 100 acres of land is being given by the Maharashtra government.

Performance of company shares

On Tuesday, shares of RRP Semiconductors rose 2 per cent to 8,584.75 per share on the BSE, while the benchmark Sensex closed 0.36 per cent lower at 82,029.98.

However, in the last three months, the stock has fallen by about 2 percent, 30 percent in 6 months and 69 percent in 1 year.

In contrast, there has been a tremendous jump of 490 percent in the shares of Mercury Trade Links in three years and 519 percent in 5 years. According to trendline’s latest shareholding data, general shareholders have a 70.8 percent stake in the company, while foreign portfolio investors (FPI) have a 29.2 percent stake. There is no stake in the company of promoters since June quarter.
