Five people have been arrested in murder case

The Meghalaya Police has arrested five people including Sonam in the murder of Raja Raghuvanshi. On Tuesday (June 17), the police except Raj Kushwaha took the other 4 accused to the place where the king was killed in Shillong. Police will recreate the scene.

Sonam and Raja were married in Indore on 11 May. After this, on May 20, both of them went to Shillong in Meghalaya to celebrate honeymoon. Both went missing on 23 May. After this, the king’s body was found on 2 June. After this, the police intensified the search for Sonam, on June 8-9, suddenly Sonam called a call from a dhaba in Ghazipur, UP.

Meanwhile, three other Vishal Chauhan, Akash Rajput and Anand Kurmi were arrested, including his alleged boyfriend Raj Kushwaha. During interrogation, the three have confessed to the murder. Raja and Sonam are accused of giving betel nut for murder. The police have also recovered the weapon from which the king was killed.

What did Meghalaya Police say?

Meghalaya Police has said that Sonam killed her husband Raja. Raja and his wife Sonam went missing on May 23 in Nongariat village in Sillong’s Sohra area a few hours after leaving a ‘Homestay’. The king’s body was found in a ditch 20 km from the village on June 2.

Police said that three other people along with Sonam have been arrested. One accused was arrested from Uttar Pradesh and two other accused were caught by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) from Indore. Sonam invited him on hire to kill Raghuvanshi.

Raja and Sonam were married on May 11 and both left for Meghalaya for a honeymoon on 20 May. Sonam’s housemates have denied the murder allegations. At the same time, the family of the king has demanded the death penalty.
