RJD candidate Sonu Kumar Rai has won from Buxar-Bhojpur local authority constituency. Voting took place on Tuesday and counting of votes took place today on Thursday (May 14, 2026). The result was released in the afternoon. Sonu Rai defeated JDU’s Kanhaiya Prasad by 354 votes. Tejashwi Yadav after the victory of RJD candidate in this by-election (Tejashwi Yadav) Has cornered BJP and NDA.

Tejashwi Yadav posted his video statement with X handle. He said that in the Buxar-Bhojpur MLC by-election, our RJD candidate Sonu Rai has won by a huge vote. NDA has faced defeat. I congratulate all the leaders, workers and voters of my party.

‘Even today if counting is done by machine then…’

Tejashwi said, “You all know that this election has been done through ballot. If the election is done through ballot then BJP is not going to survive anywhere. NDA is not going to survive anywhere. You all would know that in the Bihar elections, we had won more than 150 seats through postal ballot paper, but the people sitting in the government worked to defeat us with the help of machine mechanism, money mechanism, deceit and fraud. Even today, if the counting is done by machine, it takes the whole day and night.” It’s one or two o’clock.

The RJD leader said that we say that when it takes so much time then why is voting not done on ballot only? When voting takes place on the ballot, the result is that you all know that NDA or BJP is not going to survive anywhere.
