Denny will always remember this thing
While talking to Forbes in 2007, Denny had said, ‘I want that when I die, I will not have any money left. I look at life like an investor. I believe that money should be invested only where it benefits me or the society the most. Due to this philosophy, he donated billions of rupees, yet till March this year his wealth was about 2.4 billion dollars.

How did the journey begin?
T. Denny Sanford did not have an easy childhood. His mother died when he was four years old. From the age of eight, he started helping his father in his clothing business. Later he made a career in the world of finance. In 1986, he purchased a small bank in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, which later became known as First Premier Bank. His company Premier Bankard gave credit cards to people who had weak credit records. This business made him a billionaire.

Recognition received through donation
Sanford devoted a large part of his life to social service. He gave nearly $2 billion to Sanford Health alone. In 2007, he donated $400 million to this health system, which at that time was the largest lump sum donation received by any health system in America. Later the name of this institution was changed to Sanford Health.

Health education promoted
Through his donations, Sanford has promoted health services, education, scientific research, and many community projects. He also financially empowered Build Dakota Scholarships, Sanford Underground Research Facility, Children’s Home Society and many other institutions.
