There has been a great opportunity for the youth dreaming of government jobs in the railway. South Railway has issued a notification for a total of 3518 posts under the apprenticeship. The application process has started and interested candidates can apply online by 25 September 2025. For this, they will have to visit the official website of Southern Railway sr.indianrailways.gov.in.

Under this recruitment campaign, apprentices will be appointed in various workshops and units of Southern Railway. It includes Carriage and Wagon Works Perambur, Central Workshop Golden Rock and Signal and Telecom Workshop Units Pondnoor. In all these places, a total of 3518 candidates will get an opportunity for apprenticeship.

The educational qualification of the candidates has been fixed according to the post and trade. Candidates applying for 10th, 12th or ITI must have passed. At the same time, the age limit has been kept from minimum 15 years and maximum 22 to 24 years. Candidates of reserved category will get a discount in the upper age limit as per the rules of the government.

Application fee will have to be paid so much

The application process will be completely online. First of all, candidates have to go to the official website and click on the Act Apprentice 2025-26 link. After this, all the information sought after registering will have to be filled. On completion of registration, the remaining details will have to be filled and the form will have to be submitted. As the application fee, the candidates of general and OBC class will have to deposit Rs 100, while the application for SC, ST, Divyang and all women candidates has been kept free.

You will get so much stipend

During the apprenticeship, selected candidates will also be given stipend per month. In this, 10th pass freshers will get 6000 rupees and 12th pass or ITI holders will get a stipend of 7000 rupees per month. This will give financial support to the stipend during training and will give them financial strength along with experience.
