India has big preparations regarding space i.e. space mission. The Indian government is planning to take a human mission to the moon by 2040. To prepare for this, many more vehicles will go to space in the coming time.

During the winter session, Dr. Thol Thirumavalavan, the current president of Tamil Nadu’s Liberation Panthers Party and MP from Chidambaram Lok Sabha constituency, asked questions to the government regarding the space mission. Minister of State Dr. Jitendra Singh answered his question. He told that India is planning to land humans on the moon by 2040.

India’s space station module ready
He told that ISRO has prepared the module of indigenous Indian space station consisting of five modules. It is expected to be fully active by 2035. This entire module has been reviewed by the national level review committee.

He said that in September 2024, the Cabinet had approved the development and launch of the first module of the Indian Space Station (BAS-01) by 2028. Activities on BAS 01 module are progressing well. In these, work is going on technological development of engineering systems and many sub-systems.

The budget allocation for many previous missions, including the development and launch of BAS-1, has been kept in the Gaganyaan programme. The reason for this has been increased to Rs 20,193 crore in 2024.

Base module may be ready by 2028
The target to complete the development and launch of its base module (BAS-01) has been set by 2028. The BAS with 5 modules is targeted to be ready for operation by 2035.

International standards are being taken care of
He said that ISRO is incorporating international standards in the design of BAS-01 sub-systems. This can ensure interoperability of BAS-01. Apart from this, support and cooperation of other space agencies is also being sought. These also include uses for technical development and testing for the Indian human space programme.

Gaganyaan is the first manned mission
Gaganyaan is India’s first manned mission. Which will be able to safely take humans to the lower Earth orbit (LEO), and will also ensure their return. Indian Space Station (BAS) is a big step into the future. This will open the doors to a new world full of mysteries in space. This will also support Indian human exploration missions (such as Indian landing on the Moon) as envisioned in India’s Space Vision 2047.

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor praised the International Space Station (ISS) mission of Astronaut Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla on Monday (August 18, 2025). He described it as an “powerful symbol” of India’s human space flight ambitions and an important part of the upcoming Gaganyaan program.

Tharoor’s statement on the absence of opposition
Tharoor said, “Since the opposition is not participating in a particular discussion, I want to say that all Indians are proud of Commander Shubhanshu Shukla’s recent ISS mission. It is an important step towards our country’s Gaganyaan Human Space Flight Program.”

Opposition shied away from session
Earlier, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiran Rijiju had appealed to the opposition parties to attend the special discussion on Shukla’s mission and India’s space program in the Lok Sabha. However, many opposition leaders did not attend this session demanding a discussion on alleged voter fraud.

1/3 Since the opption is not participating in the special discussion, let me say how proud all Indians are of the recent mission of community shubhanshu shukla to the interactive space station (Iss). It served as a stepping stone to our nation’s oven human spaceflight… https://t.co/y1bwqcceg6

– Shashi Tharoor (@Shashitharoor) August 18, 2025

ISRO got precious experience
Tharoor said that Shukla’s flight gave the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) such an invaluable direct experience and data that cannot be achieved in simulation. This includes understanding of spacecraft systems, projection procedures, and direct experience of psychological and physical effects of microscravity. He said that this experience will be very important in making Gaganyaan Mission safe and better.

Scientific and technical benefits
During this mission, Indian systems and protocols were tested in the actual environment of space. This also led to scientific conclusions-such as human health studies and uses on plant growth-which will shape life-support and medical systems for future Indian space flights.

Diplomatic importance
Emphasizing the diplomatic aspect of the mission, Tharoor said that it is a milestone in “global space diplomacy”. This proved to be the preparation of India’s multilateral cooperation and opened new avenues of joint research and investment.

Inspiration for youth
Tharoor said that the historic flight of Commander Shukla has given a strong symbol to India’s human space flight ambitions. It has inspired the new generation of the country to make a career in science, technology, engineering, mathematics and space studies, which is necessary for India’s long -term space goals.

Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, the first astronaut group of India’s second and international space station (ISS) to enter space, will return to India on Sunday (August 17, 2025). They have left for India from America. Before sitting on the plane, he posted a smiling picture sitting in an airplane on ‘Instagram’ and wrote, ‘I am sitting in the plane to return to India.’

Captain Shubhanshu Shukla posted and wrote, ‘To come back to India, many kinds of feelings are awake in my heart as soon as I sit in the plane. I am sad to leave those magnificent people who have been my friends and family during this mission for the last one year. I am also excited to meet all my friends, family and all the people of the country for the first time after the mission. I think this is life- everything together ‘.

What did Captain Shubhanshu say about the mission?

Talking about the mission, Shubhanshu wrote, ‘After the love and support met during the mission and after that, I am eager to come back to India and share my experiences with all of you. It is difficult to say goodbye, but we should keep moving forward in life.

She further wrote that as my commander Paigi Whitson loves with love that space is the only stable thing change in flight. I believe that this thing also applies to life. I guess at the end of the day, ‘Like this, Chal Rahi- Jeevan is the time wheel’.

Captain Shubhanshu Shukla will meet PM Modi after returning to India

Let us know that Captain Shubhanshu Shukla has been training in America for the Acom-4 mission for ISS for the last one year. He is expected to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and travel to his hometown Lucknow immediately after that. Also, on 22-23 August, Shubhanshu will return to the capital to participate in the National Space Day celebrations.

Addressing the 79th Independence Day celebrations at the Red Fort, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Friday (August 15, 2025) that India is developing its space station and reminded that Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla has returned from a space mission.

Captain Shubhanshu was part of Axiom-4

Captain Shubhanshu Shukla Axiom-4 was part of the private space mission, which left Florida on 25 June and reached the International Space Station on 26 June. He returned to Earth on 15 July.

After spending 18 days on the International Space Station i.e. ISS, Indian Astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla left for Earth on July 14 at 3 pm. He will land on Earth on 15 July. However, the question arises that after spending so many days in space, Shubhanshu Shukla can fall prey to which disease? Now what are the dangers for them in the Earth’s atmosphere?

How dangerous is the space travel for health?

Space travel is an extraordinary experience for the human body, but it also poses a risk of many physical and mental problems. According to European Space Agency (ESA) flight surgeon Dr. Brigit Goddard, astronauts may have many problems due to micrograti. These include fluid shifts, reduction in bone density, muscles loss and space motion sickness. Shubhanshu Shukla may also face these dangers.

Space Motion Sickness

According to Dr. Goddard, Shubhanshu Shukla experienced space motion sickness in the first days in space, including problems such as heaviness and dizziness. This condition is caused by microgravity, where the balance and direction of the body is affected. At the same time, astronauts may have such problems even after returning to Earth. Usually these problems are cured in a few days, but in some cases this condition may remain for a long time.

According to NASA’s recent research, about 70 % astronauts have to face this condition. However, Shubhanshu is a fighter pilot. In such a situation, his experience has been helpful in dealing with this condition. Despite this, after coming to Earth, he will be monitored in a seven -day rehabilitation program.

Bone and muscles loss

Space in space has a poor effect on bones and muscles. Shubhanshu during his mission performed an experiment called ‘Myogenesis’, in which the process of weakening of the muscles was done in microgravity. Bone density in space may decrease at the rate of 1-2% per month. There is a risk of problems like osteoporosis.

Radiation danger

There is also a risk of radiation in space. Shubhanshu made experiments during his mission to deal with the risk of radiation, which are important for the long future missions. According to Dr. Elizabeth Johns, working at Houston, NASA Johnson Space Center in Texas, cosmic raj and solar radiation in space may increase the risk of DNA loss and cancer. Shubhanshu and his partner Estrainots checked radiation using ‘Red Nano Dosterimeter’, which will provide better security to astronauts in future.

Mental Health and Tension

Mental health is also affected by staying in space for a long time. Shubhanshu made several experiments during his mission, in which the blood flow of the brain and the speed of the eye was studied. These research will help in understanding mental health and neurological effects.

Shubhanshu shukla axiom-4 mission: Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, a group of Indian Air Force, who is going to space for India for the Axiom-4 mission, is going to space with three others. They are the other Indians who are going to make history by reaching the International Space Station. But in contrast to the perceptions of many people, Shubhanshu Shukla will not be paid anything as salary to stay in space for 14 days.

This is because the Exiom-4 mission is a joint campaign of ISRO and NASA. In this, India is completely funding this campaign. According to reports, India is spending Rs 548 crore for the Exiom-4 mission. This includes the expenditure on training, logistics, travel and research done by Shukla. Shubhanshu’s presence in this mission for the Gaganyaan Mission of 2027 is being seen as a milestone.

Donald Trump on Sunita williams: US President Donald Trump said in a statement on Friday (March 21) that he was not aware that NASA astronaut Sunita Williams and Buch Wilmor did not receive overtime salary for unexpectedly increased migration at the International Space Station (ISS). According to the report, both astronauts were to get a total payment of $ 1,430 ($ 5) for 286 days, but it has not been given yet.

Donald Trump reacted to this issue and said, ‘Nobody told me this. If needed, I will pay from my pocket. He further said that this amount is not very much and it is very less than that of astronauts.

Trump praised Spacex and Allen Musk

Trump appreciated Spacex and his CEO Allen Musk, who helped Williams, Wilmore, Nick Heg and Russian Astronaut Alexander Gorbunov back to Earth. All of them were landed in the sea near the coast of Florida through the dragon spacecraft of Spacex on Wednesday (March 19).

Delay due to technical flaws

Sunita Williams and Buch Willmore who were Test Pilots of Boeing’s new Starlineer Capsule. He was sent on an eight -day mission, but he was stuck there for more than nine months. During this time, his spacecraft revealed serious technical problems like helium leaks and the thruster failure, due to which he could not be brought back. Trump said, ‘If we did not have Alan Musk, they could have been stuck there for a long time. The body starts to weaken after nine-ten months and after 14-15 months, the situation could have worsened.

Trump mentioned attacks on Tesla

In his statement, Trump also mentioned Elon Musk’s electric car company Tesla and said that it has recently been a victim of some attacks and sabotage. He compared these incidents to the riots in Capital Hill on 6 January 2021. After this statement by Trump, this matter has become a matter of discussion, but so far there has been no formal response from NASA or US administration.
