At present, the outbreak of cold is being seen across the country. The hilly states of North India are experiencing severe cold due to heavy snowfall. On Monday night, a blanket of fog spread from UP, Bihar to Assam. Its biggest impact has been on air travel. Many airline companies including Indigo and SpiceJet have issued travel advisories. Airlines said that bad weather and fog caused disruption in flight operations.

Air India posted on social media platform The airline has requested passengers to keep checking their flight status.

Indigo airline issued advisory

Meanwhile, Indigo airline, which is struggling with the situation of massive flight cancellations earlier this month, also issued a travel advisory on Monday (December 29, 2025). The airline said that there is a possibility of fog formation late at night, which may persist till the next morning, which will reduce visibility at many airports.

Indigo said, ‘Looking at the forecast, there may be some impact on flight operations and there may be some delay due to changes in operations as per the circumstances. We remain vigilant and are constantly monitoring the weather, so that your journey can go as smoothly as possible.

The airline also said that traffic on the roads may also be affected in the early morning due to low visibility. Therefore, passengers are advised to leave extra time to reach the airport.

Keep checking flight status for new updates – IndiGo

Indigo had said in a post made a few hours ago that evening fog has started appearing again around Dehradun, due to which the speed of flights is slowing down. The airline said, ‘Our teams are assisting passengers at the airport and are continuously coordinating with the relevant authorities to normalize flights as soon as the situation becomes favorable. Please keep checking the status of your flights for new updates.

Flight operations were severely affected on Friday after a major technical glitch in the AMSS system at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport, due to which more than 200 flights were delayed. Earlier it was told that this has affected Mumbai Airport also, however later Mumbai Airport Authority said that advisory was issued to the passengers by mistake.

AMSS failed at Delhi airport

As soon as the AMSS system crashed at Delhi Airport, the air traffic control had to leave the automatic mode and work manually. Due to this, the data of each flight had to be processed manually. Distance calculations of the planes also had to be done manually and coordination had to be done through voice communication, due to which the operation of flights became much slower than usual.

Delay of more than an hour at Delhi airport

At present, there is an average delay of 62 minutes i.e. more than an hour in the departure of flights at Delhi Airport. According to data from Flightradar24, this delay has increased after a technical glitch in the air traffic control system. Airports Authority of India (AAI) has said that its teams are busy fixing the AMSS (Automatic Message Switching System), which supports ATC data. There are approximately 1,500 flight movements daily at Delhi Airport. Under normal conditions, 60-70 flights take off and land per hour. In such a situation, due to automation failure, the backlog of flights increased rapidly and the delay extended for several hours, the effect of which was seen in the entire network.

Mumbai Airport issued clarification

Mumbai Airport (MIAL) said that the advisory issued earlier was issued by mistake and was a human error. The airport clarified that all flight operations here are running completely normal and smoothly.

What is AMSS system?

AMSS is the system that sends flight plans, weather information, and other technical data between ATC and airlines. Once it fails, controllers have to enter all the data manually, which makes operations extremely slow and significantly affects flight time.

AAI issued advisory

Airport Authority of India issued a statement saying that due to AMSS malfunction at Delhi Airport, flight operations are getting delayed and the controllers are processing all the plans manually. Technical teams are continuously working on restoring the system. Passengers have been advised to stay in touch with their airlines and keep checking updated schedules.

Advisory issued for the convenience of passengers

Authorities have requested passengers to keep checking flight information from their respective airlines, be prepared for possible delays and follow instructions given at the airport. The situation is being monitored in both Delhi and Mumbai so that the system can be normalized as soon as possible.

India extends ban on pak airlines: After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, India not only retaliated by running ‘Operation Sindoor’ and broke the back of the terrorists, but also taught a strong lesson to the neighboring country of Pakistan. India not only gave a befitting reply on the military front, but also hurt Pakistan’s economy. Now once again, India has taken counter action and has increased the ban on Pakistan Airlines in its aircraft for a month to the morning of 24 October.

Closed aircraft for Pakistan

This decision was taken on Monday in the NOTAM issued by the Indian Aviation Authorities. This step of India has come at a time when Pakistan issued a notice to keep the aircraft closure for the Indian Airlines for the same period. In this way, it has been almost six months when both countries have closed each other’s aircraft.

Ban started from 24 April

Significantly, after the Pahalgam terror attack in April, the relationship between New Delhi and Islamabad got worse. After this, Pakistan banned Indian aircraft in its aircraft, in response to which India also banned Pakistan Airlines. Since then, both countries have been increasing this ban by issuing demonetisation. However, this ban is only on the airlines of India and Pakistan, the airlines of the rest of the countries are allowed to use the aircraft of both countries.

Effect on 800 weekly flights

Around 800 weekend flights of India are being affected by Pakistan’s aerpace closure. These include flights from India to West Asia, Europe, UK and North America, which now have to go a long way. According to aviation analytics company Sirikam, only six flights of Pakistan Airlines (Lahore and Islamabad to Kuala Lumpur) used Indian aircraft.

But the situation is far more challenging for Indian airlines. Air India flights go to West Asia, Europe, North America and UK. Indigo flights operate from India to West Asia, Türkiye and Central Asia. Due to the shutdown of Pakistan’s aircraft, these airlines either have to take a long route or some flights have to be closed temporarily.

There was an outcry at Mumbai Airport on Friday (September 12, 2025). In fact, technical fault occurred while flying in a Bombardier Q400 aircraft of SpiceJet airline. For this reason, while flying, the outer wheel of the aircraft broke down and fell down. The aircraft of SpiceJet Airline left for Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai with 75 passengers and crew members from Kandla Airport in Gujarat.

Although the incident took place while flying from Kandla Airport in Gujarat on the aircraft, but still the aircraft continued its journey and safely landing in Mumbai. However, soon after receiving the information of this incident, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was declared an emergency at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport.

Aai The officer of the officer gave information about the incident

Officials confirmed that by the time Kandla Air Traffic Control (ATC) saw something falling down in the air, the aircraft had flew. The Airport Authority of India official said in his statement, ‘Kandla had seen something falling down soon after the ATC aircraft took off. After this, he immediately informed the pilot of the aircraft and sent the ATC jeep to bring the thing that falls from the plane.

He said, “When the ATC jeep reached the runway, he saw that the outer wheel of the aircraft and its metal rings had fallen.”

Rescue team was on high alert at Mumbai airport

Fire brigade and rescue teams were placed on high alert at Mumbai airport after receiving information about the fall of the aircraft. However, the aircraft safely landing on Friday (September 12, 2025) at 4 pm. The Mumbai Airport official said, “Despite a serious threat in the air, the aircraft itself reached the terminal while taxi and the passengers got off the aircraft without any untoward incident.”

Airline gave official statement about the incident

SpiceJet spokesperson said in an official statement about the incident, “On September 12, an outer wheel of a Q400 aircraft of SpiceJet going from Kandla to Mumbai was found on the runway. Nevertheless, the aircraft continued its journey and reached Mumbai and made a safe landing. After a safe landing at Mumbai Airport, the aircraft reached the terminal taxi with its strength and all the passengers landed normally.

Dgca What did the former official of the incident say about the incident,

At the same time, a former DGCA official said, ‘The wheel of the aircraft is a serious incident, but because the assembly of the wheel is of two units and one wheel was connected to the aircraft, so the located was handled. But if one came out of the aircraft, the other wheel could also come out.

The official said, ‘The pilot of the aircraft decided to land in Mumbai instead of returning to Kandla after the incident. It may be that he must have believed that Mumbai’s runway is long, which is better for landing in such difficult situations.

There was an uproar on Monday (July 14, 2025) in the aircraft SG 9282 going from Delhi to Mumbai when two passengers tried to forcibly move towards the cockpit while doing indiscipline during the taxing. A statement has also been issued by SpiceJet.

According to a statement issued by SpiceJet, “Both passengers were not ready to return to their seats despite repeated stopping cabin crew, other passengers and captains.” Keeping in mind the safety of the passengers and crew, the flight captain decided to bring the aircraft back to the bay instead of moving to the runway. After this, both the passengers were removed from the aircraft and handed over to CISF.

Aircraft was also returned to runway on 13 July

Earlier on July 13, SpiceJet’s Pune-Delhi flight SG-914 had to return from the runway due to technical fault. The flight was to leave at 12 noon, but after a delay of about 9 hours, flew at 9:05 pm.

Some passengers claimed that they were kept sitting inside the aircraft for two hours. However, SpiceJet rejected these claims. SpiceJet said that passengers were landed from the plane after about an hour. Due to the technical issue, the flight had to bring back the bay parking from the runway. The claim to keep passengers in the aircraft for 2 hours is wrong.

Passengers increased concern

Constant incidents of SpiceJet have increased the concern of passengers. Many passengers have appealed to DGCA to tighten fleet maintenance and passenger facilities. People are very scared after the Ahmedabad aircraft accident and are very worried due to the problems coming in flights.
