Sai Jadhav, a resident of Kolhapur, Maharashtra, has added a new chapter in the 93-year-old history of the Indian Military Academy (IMA). She has become the first woman officer of the Territorial Army and the first woman officer cadet to complete training from IMA. Got this position through SSB interview and difficult training

Sai Jadhav was selected after passing the tough national level competitive examination and SSB interview. She joined a special course for the Territorial Army. There were a total of 16 officer cadets in this course, out of which Sai was the only woman. He completed 6 months of intensive and difficult training. This training was very tough both physically and mentally, which strengthened leadership skills, stamina and sense of duty towards the army.

The passing out parade (POP) held at IMA Dehradun was a historic moment. Sai Jadhav’s proud parents themselves placed Lieutenant’s stars on his shoulders at the parade. This success of SAI will inspire thousands of young women.

Sai’s father is a major in the Indian Army.

Sai Jadhav’s family is already associated with the army. His father Sandeep Jadhav is a Major in the Indian Army, while his grandfather has served in the British Army. This rich military tradition of the family was the main reason influencing Sai’s decision to pursue a career in the armed forces.

Lieutenant Sai Jadhav’s success is not just her personal achievement, but also opens the way for equal opportunities for women in the Indian Army. Sai will do training and parade in IMA

This achievement is also special because from June 2026, women officer cadets will regularly take training at IMA along with male cadets and will participate in the passing out parade. Sai Jadhav’s success signals a new beginning for gender equality in the Indian Army.

The Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) arrested two Nigerians and a Brazilian citizen from the international border on Saturday (September 13, 2025). Officials informed that these foreign nationals are suspected of fleeing jails during recent anti -government protests in Nepal.

Officials said that the paramilitary forces and the state police, protecting the Indo-Nepal international border, have so far caught more than 75 people from different places on this 1,751 km-long border. These include two citizens of Nigeria, a Brazilian citizen, a Bangladeshi citizen and some Indians.

Foreign nationals caught from Bihar, UP, Uttarakhand and West Bengal

According to officials, these people have been caught in the last three-four days after fleeing various jails during large-scale anti-government protests in the neighboring country Nepal. Officials said that about 43 of these people have been caught from Bihar, 22 from Uttar Pradesh, eight from Uttarakhand and two from West Bengal.

He said that Nigerian and Brazilian citizens were caught on Friday (September 12, 2025) from the region (Jayanagar) of Bihar, while the Bangladeshi citizen was caught a few days ago from Bihar. The Indo-Nepal border is spread over 20 districts of five states.

SSB has issued three emergency helpline numbers to assist Indians trapped in Nepal. Apart from helpline numbers 1903 in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal and Uttarakhand, two other helpline numbers 0522-2728816 and 0522-298657 are also available.

Announcement of dates for next parliamentary election in Nepal

The next parliamentary elections in Nepal will be held on March 5, 2026. The office of President Ramchandra Paudel made this announcement on Saturday (September 13, 2025). This announcement has been made after a week -long violent protests, due to which K.K. P. Sharma Oli had to resign from the post of Prime Minister and Sushila Karki became the Prime Minister of Nepal’s interim government. Along with this, Sushila Karki became the first woman Prime Minister of Nepal.

Supreme Court Directs Union Home Ministry: The Supreme Court has clearly stated in its judgment that in view of the operational and functional needs of the forces, it is necessary that the cadre officials should be posted in senior positions. Along with this, the lateral entry of IPS officers in paramilitary forces is facing a lot of problems for cadre officers to reach high positions. In such a situation, the Supreme Court has directed to reduce the appointment of IPS officers coming on deputation in the next two years.

Currently, officers are appointed in central police forces in two ways. From Assistant Commandant to DIG, officers of the cadre are usually appointed. The IPS officer is appointed from IG to Director General (DG) posts. These IPS officers come on a central appointment on deputation for some time.

Responsibility of central paramilitary forces

Central paramilitary forces include CRPF, BSF and ITBP, besides Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF).

If the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) is responsible for internal security and law and order, then BSF is responsible for the security of Pakistan and Bangladesh border. The SSB is responsible for the security of Nepal and Bhutan and the India-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) is responsible for the border with China (Tibet). CISF is responsible for the protection of important institutions and heritage of the country. NDRF is responsible for fighting natural and human disasters.

SSC Cadre officers join central police forces through

If the cadre officers pass the examination of the Service Selection Commission (SSC), they appear in the Central Police Forces, then the Indian Police Service (IPS) officers join the separate police of the states through UPSC examination. Only these IPS officers are posted in senior positions in the Central Police Forces on central deputation for some time.

Supreme Court directed to review

In recent years, cadre officers have been appointed till ADG rank. But the number of such officers is very less. This is the reason that the matter reached the Supreme Court. The two member bench of the Supreme Court has now directed the Ministry of Home Affairs to review the cadre.
