At some places, angry candidates protested, while at some places there was a situation of road jam and uproar. In Muzaffarpur of Bihar also, anger of students was seen after the news of cancellation of examination.

Many candidates who came to appear for the exam said that they had prepared for months, but due to administrative negligence they had to face problems. This was the reason why SSC GD exam remained a topic of discussion throughout the day on social media.

Why did the Commission decide to cancel the examination?

SSC says that fairness of the examination is most important. When more candidates reach a center than its capacity and the system gets affected, it becomes difficult to conduct the examination properly. Complaints were continuously reaching the Commission that the number of candidates at some centers was much more than the prescribed limit. In such a situation, to avoid any kind of disturbance or dispute, it was decided to cancel the examination.

Don’t worry, you will get a chance to take the exam again.

There is relief news for the candidates whose exams have been affected on 25th and 26th May. SSC has clarified that all the affected candidates will get a chance to re-appear in the examination. According to the Central Region of the Staff Selection Commission, the examination of the affected candidates will now be conducted again from 27 May 2026. That means no candidate will be allowed to suffer any loss.

New admit cards will be issued

Due to re-examination, candidates will have to download a new hall ticket instead of the old admit card. Candidates have been advised to keep an eye on the official website of SSC from time to time.

Change in exam date also

SSC has made another important change. Earlier the examination of some candidates was scheduled on 28th May, but now it will be held on 27th May. According to the Commission, this change has been made due to the amendment in government holidays. Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has taken a big step to maintain transparency in competitive examinations. The Commission has recently issued a notice clearly said that whatever people or institutes will share, analyze or share the material on the question papers of the current examinations, there will be strict action against them. The Commission clarified that such activities are strictly forbidden under the Public Examination (Prevention of Inappropriate Instruments) Act, 2024 (PEA Act 2024).

What will be punished?

• Under this new law, those who break the rules will be punished strongly.
• If any person is found guilty, there can be a fine of 3 to 5 years in jail and a fine of up to Rs 10 lakh.
• Action will be taken on institutions like a fine of up to Rs 1 crore, blacklist and out of future examinations.
• In the event of organized crime, a fine of 5 to 10 years and a fine of at least Rs 1 crore is fixed.

Why this step was taken?

In recent times, the question papers and analysis of SSC exams were being shared indiscriminately on social media. This was raising questions on the confidentiality and fairness of the examination. This is the reason that the Commission has now made it clear that any kind of paper discussion will be tolerated on social media.
