The Department of Telecommunications had given several suggestions, including increasing the annual spectrum fee from 4 percent to 5 percent and removing the fee of Rs 500 on every connection in urban areas, which TRAI has rejected. Now the Department of Telecommunications will present its views before the Digital Communication Commission (DCC), after hearing which the DCC will decide what next step should be taken for the pricing of spectrum.
