If you live in metro cities like Delhi or Noida, then there is great news for you. The Central Government has launched the country’s first Cooperative Taxi Service – Bharat Taxi, which will directly compete with private cab companies like Ola and Uber. This new service has been started under the Union Ministry of Cooperation and NeGD (National e-Governance Division). Its objective is to give ownership to drivers and provide a cheap, reliable and government-monitored option to passengers. Bharat Taxi’s drivers will work on a membership model, where they will only have to pay a small daily, weekly or monthly fee. With this, most of their earnings will remain with them and not with any private company. The pilot phase of Bharat Taxi will start in Delhi in November 2025 with 650 vehicles. If this initiative is successful, it will be implemented in big cities across the country by December. This model can open a new chapter of cooperative economy and fair earning in India.

According to the latest World Economic Outlook Report of IMF, India is once again in the headlines. The report says that India’s GDP growth is estimated to be 6.6% in the financial year 2025-26, which is the fastest among the major economies of the world. Whereas China’s growth rate is expected to be 4.8% – that means India is going to overtake China once again! IMF said that India’s fast growth is due to strong domestic demand, industrial production and large-scale infrastructure investment. India’s GDP grew at a rate of 7.8% in the first quarter of FY26, and this carryover effect is increasing the pace for the entire year. IMF estimates that the growth of the global economy may decline to 3.2% in 2025 and 3.1% in 2026, but India’s growth will still remain at the top. However, the IMF has warned that protectionism, geopolitical tensions and labor market changes could slow global growth. The Indian government believes that the country’s growth will remain between 6.3%–6.8% and that startups, innovation and infrastructure boom will take India to new heights.

The government has launched the Employment Linked Inspector (ELI) Scheme, under which the youth doing the first job will get an incentive of ₹ 15,000. This benefit will be given to 1.92 crore people, whose salary is less than ₹ 1 lakh. This amount will be given in two installments every 6 months. For this, the government has set a budget of ₹ 99,446 crore. Companies will also get a subsidy of up to ₹ 3,000 per month on every new employee. The scheme will be applicable to jobs given from 1 August 2025 to 31 July 2027 and is expected to produce more than 3.5 crore jobs.
