Steve Smith is keen to return to Australia’s T20 team. He has retired from ODI format, but not from T20. Entry into Pakistan Super League

A few weeks ago, an auction was held for 2 new teams in PSL, out of which Sialkot team emerged. Sialkot Stallions have added Steve Smith to their team as a marquee player. Let us tell you that Smith has never played in Pakistan Super League before. He was supposed to make his PSL debut in 2019, but could not play a single match due to injury.

According to some reports, marquee players in PSL get a salary between 3.5 lakh US dollars to 4 lakh dollars.

Ignored in T20 World Cup

Steve Smith played for Sydney Sixers in the Big Bash League. He was the highest run scorer for this team in the entire tournament. He had scored 299 runs in 6 matches including one century and 2 half-centuries. Smith is recognized as a Test batsman, but in order to make it to the T20 World Cup squad, he scored runs at a strike rate of around 168 in the BBL. Unfortunately, all his efforts proved unsuccessful.

If we look at Steve Smith’s total T20 career, he has scored 6,242 runs in 272 matches so far. In this huge career, he has scored 5 centuries and 30 half-centuries. He has also completed more than one thousand runs in International T20 cricket. But his strike rate is only 125.45.
