Stock Market Today: The beginning of the fourth trading day of the week, Thursday, May 14, in the Indian stock market was positive. Major benchmark indices BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty 50 opened trading in the green.

The 30-share BSE Sensex index opened with a gain of 338.14 points or 0.45 percent. Sensex started the day at the level of 74,947.12. At the same time, NSE Nifty 50 also started the day positive. Nifty 50 jumped 117.65 points or 0.50 percent and opened at the level of 23,530.25.

By around 9:20 am, the Sensex was trading at 74,956 points, up by 347 points. Whereas Nifty 50 had jumped 139 points and was trading at the level of 23,551.

Adani Port, NTPC, PowerGrid and Bharti Airtel were the top gainers from the BSE basket. Talking about the top losers, HCL Tech, TCS, Tech Mahindra and Titan were there.

How was the market on Wednesday?

There was a slight rise in the Indian stock market on the trading day of Wednesday, May 13. Major benchmark indices BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty 50 ended the day trading in the green. Sensex closed at 74,608.98 points with a rise of 49.74 points or 0.07 percent, while NSE Nifty 50 closed at 23,412.60 points with a rise of 33.05 points or 0.14 percent.

Who were the top gainer-loser?

Asian Paint, Tata Steel, Adani Port, Bharti Airtel and Indigo were the top gainers from the BSE basket. Talking about the top losers, they were Mahindra & Mahindra, PowerGrid, Tech Mahindra, TCS and Sun Pharma.

A decline was seen in the shares of Nifty Auto, Nifty IT and Nifty Bank. Whereas there was a rise in the shares of Nifty 100, Nifty Smallcap 100, Nifty Midcap 100 and Nifty FMCG. On Wednesday’s trading day, 13 shares from BSE basket closed on the green mark and 17 shares recorded a decline.
