It is not possible to travel long distances without air travel, but there are some airports in the world where landing a plane is like risking life for the pilots. The Luxury Travel Expert has released the list of the 5 most dangerous airports in the world. At these places even a small mistake can turn into a major accident.

1. Lukla Airport, Nepal

Nepal’s Lukla Airport is considered to be the most dangerous airport in the world. It is also called Tanging-Hillary Airport. It is situated at an altitude of about 2,860 meters above sea level. The runway here is only 527 meters long. On one side there are high rocks and on the other side there is a deep ditch. To land here the plane has to be brought straight down. In 2025, 15 people have died in two accidents here. Only very experienced pilots are allowed to land here.

2. Paro Airport, Bhutan

Paro Airport of Bhutan is surrounded by mountains. It is at an altitude of 2,200 meters and is surrounded by 5,500 meter high mountains. The auto system does not work here, so the pilot has to control the plane himself. About 50 pilots in the world are allowed to land here.

3. Courchevel Airport, France

Courchevel Airport in France is near a ski resort. Its runway is only 537 meters long and very steep. There is no night landing facility here and planes are landed relying only on eyes. Snow makes it more dangerous in winter.

4. Madeira Airport, Portugal

Madeira Airport is built in the middle of the sea. Strong winds blow here, which makes landing difficult. Many accidents have happened here in the past. Now the runway has been extended, yet special training is given to the pilots.

5. Toncotin Airport, Honduras

Toncotin Airport of Honduras is in a mountainous area. Here the plane has to take a sharp turn before landing. 152 people died in a major accident in 2008. Even today it is considered very dangerous. Landing at these airports is no less than a challenge for the pilots. This is the reason why they are called the most dangerous airports in the world.

Shubhanshu shukla on iss: The International Space Station (ISS) is a huge scientific laboratory located in the lower meaning orbit, about 400 km above the earth. It is a joint project of America, Russia, Japan, Europe and Canada. Its speed is 28,000 km per hour, due to which it completes a round of the earth in just 90 minutes. That is, it experiences a view of sunrise and sunset once every year and a half. It is like a train that is moving around the earth continuously, but at a very high speed.

The sun is very fast and clear when viewed from ISS, because there is no atmospheric mist or pollution. Sunrise is seen every 45 minutes and then sunset in 45 minutes. Thermosphere glow looks like a bright orange line on the edges of the earth, which is formed when the sun rays hit the upper atmosphere of the earth. At night, when ISS is in the shadow of the earth, the lights of cities on the earth shine like stars. Everyone should be mesmerized by seeing this scene. This is the experience that is difficult to tie in words.

How to view time on ISS Is?
Since every 90 minutes on ISS, day and night comes and night, there is no permanent day and night cycle, as it happens on the earth. Because of this, the time in ISS runs according to Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). All crew members are given fixed schedule, such as sleeping, getting up, eating and working. Day and night feeling is made from artificial lighting. Every astronaut is given special watches and alarm systems, so that their biological clock continues to work properly. This technique is scientifically designed, so that there is no disturbance in the balance of the mind and body.

Why is this experience special for Shubhanshu Shukla?
Shubhanshu Shukla of India has joined the selected astronauts who have got a chance to see the sun and the earth by staying outside the earth. For him, this experience is not only scientific, but is associated with humanity and self -consciousness. Every 90 minutes the rising of the sun and drowning gives a new view on the cycle of life. When looking from space, the earth looks like a blue-green ball, which is beyond boundaries, nations and conflicts. This experience also changes the mind and thinking of a person psychologically. Because of this, the attitude of time, existence and life is different.
