Supreme Court on Waqf Act: A bench of Supreme Court Chief Justice Sanjeev Khanna, Justice Sanjay Kumar and KV Vishwanathan heard the Waqf Act on Wednesday (16 April 2025). ‘Waqf by user can have serious consequences’

Senior advocates on behalf of the Solicitor General of the Central Government and the supporters of the Act assured the Supreme Court that the amendments made in the Waqf Act are completely constitutional and there is nothing to violate fundamental rights. During the hearing, the Supreme Court also told the Center that the abolition of Waqf by user can have serious consequences. However, the court said that it has also been misused.

You cannot write the past again- Supreme Court

Tushar Mehta said that a large section of Muslims does not want to be ruled under the Waqf Act. The bench then asked Mehta, “Are you saying that from now on, you will allow Muslims to be part of the Hindu Entrance Board.” Say it openly. ”The Supreme Court said that when a public trust was declared a Waqf 100 or 200 years ago, it could not be taken under the Waqf Board and could not be declared otherwise. The bench said, “You cannot write the past again.”
