With the formation of the new government of Nepal, the voices of protest and dissatisfaction have intensified. There is increasing resentment among the youth and people associated with the Gen Z movement against Prime Minister Sushila Karki. The prot Gurung’s organization ‘Hami Nepal’ is considered to be the backbone of this movement, but now the same organization is feeling neglected by the decisions of the government. Especially, the resentment of Sudan is clearly visible due to the lack of meeting the families of the martyrs and being shore in the selection of ministers.

There was also an uproar outside the Prime Minister’s residence Baluwatar on the night of Sunday (14 September). The relatives of the deceased and several Gen Z groups shouted slogans against the government and even demanded PM’s resignation. Amidst this protest, the cabinet expansion is to be done today, but only three ministers will be sworn in.

Why protesters raging on Omprakash Aryal?

According to sources, Omprakash Aryal may get the responsibility of the Ministry of Home and Justice, former Finance Secretary Rameshwar Khanal and the Ministry of Energy to the Ministry of Finance. However, the protesters allege that Omprakash Aral, who is being made the Home Minister, was earlier talking to the agitators, but later he himself bargained and took the post of minister. For this reason, they also opposed outside the PM residence.

Gurung supporters accused the government

Gurung supporters say that the government is ignoring the spirit of mass movement. At the same time, Sudan Gurung reiterated that he will continue to raise the voice of the families of the martyrs and if the situation does not change, he will not back down from challenging the power of PM Karki.

There is a big change in Nepal’s politics. The formation of the interim government under the leadership of Prime Minister Sushila Karki is moving fast. According to sources in Rashtrapati Bhavan Sheetal Niwas, the names of four important ministries have been fixed. Preparations are being made to make Omprakash Aral a Home Minister, Rameshwar Khanal as Finance Minister, Kulman Ghising as Energy Minister and Balanand Sharma as Defense Minister. The remaining posts will be discussed later.

Sources said that the swearing -in ceremony can take place today (September 15). With this, Nepal’s long -standing political instability is expected to end. At the same time, former cricket captain Paras Khadka is likely to be made the Minister of Youth and Sports and Industrialist Aseem Man Singh Basnet as Physical Infrastructure and Traffic Minister. Significantly, Sushila Karki was sworn in as Prime Minister on 12 September. Prior to him, PM KP Sharma Oli had to resign under pressure from anti -corruption protests. President Ramchandra Paudel dissolved Parliament, assuming the demand of GEN-Z protesters and announced to hold elections by March 2026.

Sushila Karki has given place to such faces in the cabinet, whose image is clean and specialized.

• Omprakash Aryal (Home Minister): Supreme Court lawyers, more than 50 petitions were filed on corruption and civil rights.
• Rameshwar Khanal (Finance Minister): Former Finance Secretary, Advocates of Economic Reforms and Foreign Investment.
• Kulman Ghising (Minister of Energy): Former NEA head of the Lodsheding, the architect of the Indo-Nepal Power Agreement.
• Balanand Sharma (Defense Minister): Retired Lieutenant General, an important role in adjustment of Maoist fighters in the army.
• Paras Khadka (Sports Minister): Cricketer, dear to youth, a glimpse of the Gen-Z movement.
• Aseem Man Singh Basnet (Infrastructure Minister): Tech entrepreneurs, the founder of the Pathao app, the ability to modernize Nepal’s infrastructure.
