There was a debate in the Patiala House Court of Delhi regarding Chaitanyananda Saraswati being a monk. Delhi Police clarified that Chaitanyanand is not a monk. He gave this reply on the petition in which Chaitanya Nanda had sought permission to wear monk’s clothes and keep religious books in jail.

Delhi Police said law and order may deteriorate in jail

Chaitanyanand is currently in judicial custody in the molestation case registered in Vasant Kunj police station. In the court of Judicial Magistrate Animesh Kumar in Patiala House Court, Delhi Police argued that if the accused is allowed to wear monk’s clothes, then law and order in the jail may deteriorate. Therefore the court should not consider this demand.

Chaitanyanand’s lawyer opposed the police’s argument

This argument of Delhi Police was opposed by the lawyer of accused Chaitanyanand. The lawyer argued in the court that freedom to wear clothes will not cause any law and order problem in the jail. He told the court that Chaitanyananda had already been initiated. After initiation, his name was changed from Partha Sarathi to Chaitanyanand Saraswati.

The lawyer also said in the court that the monastery which had given initiation never challenged this fact. The court directed the lawyer to present the documents related to initiation so that it could be clear whether Chaitanyanandha is actually a monk or not. The court has fixed the next hearing of the case for Tuesday.

There should be no impact on jail administration and security arrangements.

The seriousness of the matter can also be understood from the fact that any violation of any rule or law and order problem in the jail is considered a very sensitive issue. The question of Chaitanyananda being a monk is not only related to his personal identity, but it can also affect the jail administration and security system.

The court has asked both the parties to present all the documents and evidence of the case so that the right decision of the case can be taken. Now this matter will be heard again in the court on Tuesday and further action will be decided.

Weak class students targeted

According to the police, Chaitanyanand is accused of targeting students studying in Post-Graduate Management Diploma course under the Scholarship Scheme of Economically Weaker Class (EWS). On August 4, after receiving a complaint from the Indian Air Force headquarters, the accused escaped, in which he was accused of molesting the girl students.

Baba used to call the room at night

Investigation revealed that Chaitanyanand used to call the girl students in their room at night and force them to reduce their grades or fail. The police have recorded statements of three wards of the institute, who are accused of helping Chaitanyanand and deleting objectionable messages.

Evidence of sexual abuse

WhatsApp chats recovered from about 50 girl students’ phones have found evidence of sexual abuse for 16 years, including objectionable messages and forced physical contact incidents. Apart from this, allegations of deleting CCTV footage have also been reported and DVR has been sent for forensic investigation.

Allegations were also made earlier

Earlier, in early August, 17 girl students lodged a complaint at Delhi’s Defense Colony Police Station, in which Chaitanyanand was accused of harassment of students receiving EWS category scholarship. According to officials, Chaitanyanand had been exploiting women for the last two decades, and in 2009 and 2016, he escaped in cases of tampering.

This time the matter came to light when 17 girls lodged a complaint in August. At that time Chaitanyanand was in London, but his final location was found in Agra. He filed an anticipatory bail petition in the Delhi High Court, but later withdrew it.

Another shocking revelation in the investigation was that several fake number plates were recovered from Chaitanyanand’s red colored luxury Volvo car, which had fake people of the United Nations (UN). The investigation confirmed that this number plate was not released by the UN and the accused himself made them. The car has been confiscated for investigation.

According to the PTI report, amidst the action against ‘Baba’, the officials have come to know that Chaitanyanand allegedly used different names and information to run a bank account. Investigators said that after the FIR was registered, Baba withdrew more than Rs 50 lakh.

The administration of the Private Management Institute said that during a virtual meeting with more than 30 girl students, many accused Baba of sexual harassment and threatening, after which an FIR was lodged against them on August 4.

Chaitanyanand filed anticipatory bail plea

An anticipatory bail petition was also filed by absconding Chaitanyanand. A Delhi court on Friday dismissed a bail petition in a case of alleged financial irregularities filed against him. During the investigation against Swayambhu Baba, it was found that he allegedly opened a bank account with 2 different names by submitting separate documents.

The police further said that about 50-55 lakh rupees have been withdrawn since the case was registered. Delhi Police has freeze about 8 crore rupees from 18 bank accounts and 28 fixed deposits related to Swayambhu Baba.

Swayambhu Baba Swami Chaitanyanand Saraswati of Delhi is absconding since the allegations of sexual harassment. The police suspect that he is constantly changing his look (disguise) to avoid arrest and is also avoiding using a mobile or electronic device.

Chaitanyanand is alleged to have forced the students of Shri Sharda Indian Institute of Management (SIIMD) to go to their quarters at night at Vasant Kunj, Delhi.

Lookout notice issued against Swami Chaitanyanand Saraswati

Police said that a case has been registered at Vasant Kunj North police station. The lookout notice (LOC) has been issued against him and is trying to track his location through technical surveillance.

Police investigation has revealed that Swami Chaitanyanand not only exploited at least 17 girl students, but also took the property of the institute in its possession and rented the private companies and bought luxury vehicles with the amount received from it.

The investigation has also revealed that the accused Baba had an institute and hostel’s CCTV access on his mobile. He used to watch CCTV in the phone itself. Not only this, he also installed CCTV camera outside the bathroom.

According to the police, the talk of tampering with the DVR system has also come to light. According to the police, about 75 girls were living in the hostel. Currently the hostel is empty.

How used to make girls forced?

According to the FIR lodged against Swami Chaitanyanand, the complaint clearly states that Swami and some of his close people, especially the girls, threatened and exploited them physically and mentally. The girls were forced to go abroad with Swami.

According to sources, first a former student and group captain of Indian Air Force complained to the university administration by sending letters and emails. It was told in the complaint that Swami had been doing wrong acts with girls and women staff for a long time ..

More than 30 women students alleged that Swami used to harass them on messages and WhatsApp. A student told that Swamy called her as “baby” and made fun by making a video of her.
