Do Regular Periods Mean Hormones Are Balanced: Often women assume that if their periods are coming on time every month, then their hormones will be absolutely fine. Regular bleeding at an interval of 28 to 30 days gives them relief and it is assumed that everything is balanced inside the body. But the truth is that regular periods are just an external sign, not the whole picture. Let us tell you what experts say about this.

The hormonal system is very complex. In this, brain ovary, thyroid, adrenal glands and metabolism, all are connected to each other. Many times this system keeps the periods regular despite internal stress and imbalance. This is the reason why some women get their periods on time, but they have to face fertility-related problems, severe pain, mood swings or premenstrual problems.

What do experts say?

Dr Radhika Sheth, medical director of Luma Fertility, told TOI that it is common in medical practice that hormonal imbalance exists for a long time even in women with regular periods. They say that periods are just a result, whereas the hormonal process behind it is much deeper and sensitive. A common but overlooked problem is progesterone deficiency, called luteal phase insufficiency. In such a situation, the woman ovulates on time and her periods also remain regular, but due to insufficient progesterone, the pregnancy does not last. If testing is not done at the right time, this problem remains undetected for years.

Problem even in regular periods

Similarly, PCOS is often associated with irregular periods, but in its mild or metabolic form, many women have regular periods. Yet they may still have insulin resistance or mild hormonal imbalance, which affects egg quality and fertility. Even mild disturbances in thyroid or prolactin can weaken ovulation and hormonal support without affecting periods. Apart from this, constant stress, lack of sleep and irregular eating habits increase cortisol in the body, due to which the hormonal balance gradually deteriorates.

What things should not be ignored?

Doctors say that symptoms like sharp mood swings, painful periods, constant fatigue, swelling, low libido or emotional instability should not be ignored as normal. These signs indicate that even if periods are regular, the body is trying to create balance from within.

Female Physical Relation Dysfunction: If there is pain while having physical relations, desire has decreased or it is difficult to achieve orgasm, then this problem could be a female sexual disorder. It affects four out of every ten women. According to the nutrition expert, “Female sexual dysfunction includes low desire, lack of excitement, pain or lack of pleasure during sex. This is not only due to physical reasons, but mental stress, distance in relationships and hormonal fluctuations also increase it.” Regarding this matter, the doctor says that “This problem can occur due to many reasons, such as menopause, side effects of medicines, mental stress, strain in relationships or new changes in life.”

What are its signs?

If you feel that you are also going through these symptoms, then definitely recognize these big signs, such as the desire to have physical relations has reduced. In a survey, almost half the women admitted that they do not find sex as pleasurable as before.

Why does desire decrease?

persistent stress, anxiety, or sadness

too little food or excessive exercise

effects of certain medications

lack of emotional connection

Hormonal changes during pregnancy, breastfeeding, menopause

How to improve?

enough sleep

balanced diet

stress reducing habits

Psychologist or marriage advice

blood test

If there is hormonal imbalance, consult a doctor

Difficulty reaching orgasm

Research shows that women often do not reach orgasm during sex. If this problem has increased suddenly, it may be a sign of female sexual disorder.

how to fix?

Have your medications checked by a doctor

Vitamin and mineral deficiency test in blood

taking vitamin d in winter

pain during sexual intercourse

If there is pain during intercourse, it makes the experience unpleasant and gradually the mind also begins to withdraw.

According to doctors, the reasons for this could be that

infection

swelling of the pelvic area

vaginal muscle spasms

diseases related to uterus

ovarian lump

intestinal problems

What to do?

The first step is to meet an expert

Changing positions during sex

doing something that excites

Use of lubricant products

Including omega-3 rich foods like fish, flaxseed, walnuts

Eating curd and fermented food, they protect from infection
