New Zealand Cricket issued a statement saying

Michael Bracewell was injured during the match played against Afghanistan in Chennai on February 8. New Zealand Cricket later said in a statement, ‘Bracewell had recovered from the calf injury sustained in the third ODI against India last month, but re-injured the muscle during practice on Sunday.’

Who will replace Michael Bracewell in the team?

Regarding Michael Bracewell’s injury, New Zealand Cricket said, ‘After investigation, the injury has been confirmed and it may take about three weeks for him to be fully fit.’ Bracewell’s replacement has been announced. In place of Bracewell, off-spin all-rounder Cole McConchie will now come to India to join the team as a reserve along with fast bowler Ben Sears.

Wanindu Hasaranga also out of T20 World Cup

Before New Zealand, the Sri Lankan team has suffered a big blow in the form of Wanindu Hasaranga. Due to injury, Hasaranga is now out of the remaining matches of the tournament for Sri Lanka. Hasaranga suffered a left muscle strain during Sri Lanka’s opening match against Ireland on Sunday, February 8. The ICC has approved the inclusion of leg spin all-rounder Dushan Hemanth in the Sri Lankan team in place of Hasaranga.

Bangladesh is now out of T20 World Cup 2026. Scotland has got its place. The ICC had assured BCB officials of the safety of Bangladeshi players when they travel to India, but remained adamant on the demand of shifting its matches to Sri Lanka. Instead of Bangladesh, Scotland will now be seen in Group C of the World Cup. There has been a slight change in the schedule of the World Cup with the arrival of the new team.

Updated schedule of T20 World Cup

Bangladesh was placed in Group C along with England, West Indies, Nepal and Italy. Scotland has now come to this group in place of Bangladesh. Its first match will be against West Indies on 7 February, while on 9 February it will have to face Italy, who will be playing the T20 World Cup for the first time. Scotland’s third match will be against England on 14 February, while in the final match of the group stage, it will face Nepal, which will be played on 17 February.

World Cup will start from 7th February

The 2026 T20 World Cup will start from 7 February and the final match will be played on 8 February. A total of 3 blockbuster matches will be played on the first day i.e. 7th February. Pakistan vs Netherlands, Scotland vs West Indies and India vs USA matches will be played on 7 February.

When is India-Pakistan match?

India and Pakistan have been placed in Group A, in which USA, Namibia and Netherlands are also present. India and Pakistan will clash on 15 February, this match will be played at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Amidst the tension going on outside the field, the eyes of the entire cricket world will be fixed on the India-Pakistan match.

T20 World Cup 2026 will start from 7th February. The first match of the tournament will be played between Pakistan and Netherlands. The venues for both the semi-final matches have also been confirmed. The first semi-final will be played in Kolkata and the second in Colombo. India and Sri Lanka will be hosting the T20 World Cup together. The final match will be played on March 8 at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. India, Pakistan, USA, Netherlands and Namibia have been kept in the same group. India will play its first match with USA on 7th February, which will be held in Mumbai. India’s second match will be against Namibia on 12 February, the third against Pakistan on 15 February and the fourth league match will be against Netherlands on 18 February.
