T20 World Cup 2026 Super 8 Qualified Teams: In the 2026 T20 World Cup, Super-8 matches are starting from today i.e. 21st February. The first match in the Super-8 stage will be played between Pakistan and New Zealand. A total of 20 countries took part in the tournament, but after the group stage the number of teams has reduced to only 8. The real competition will begin now, where there will be a race between these eight teams to reach the semi-finals and then the finals.

Before the matches of Super-8 stage start, know which eight teams have overcome the challenge of group stage and made it to the next stage. Let us tell you that a total of 12 matches will be played in Super-8.

Whose match today?

Today the first match in Super-8 will be played between Pakistan and New Zealand. This match will be played at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo and will start at 7 pm Indian time. In the history of international T20 cricket, Pakistan and New Zealand have come face to face 49 times so far, out of which Pakistan has won 24 times and the Kiwi team has won 23 times.

How did you qualify for Super-8?

When the 2026 T20 World Cup tournament started, all the 20 teams were divided into 4 groups of five each. The teams in each group faced each other once. In this way, after the completion of all the matches, all the teams which remained in the first 2 positions in the group, qualified for the Super-8.

India and Pakistan from Group A, Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe from Group B, West Indies and England from Group C, South Africa and New Zealand from Group D qualified. Now these eight teams have been divided into two groups of four each in the Super-8 and the top-2 teams will enter the semi-finals.

Super 8 Schedule T20 World Cup: In the 2026 T20 World Cup, Super-8 matches are starting from Saturday, 21st February. In the Super-8 stage, all the teams are divided into two groups of four each and a total of 12 matches will be played in this stage. These 12 matches to be played from 21st February to 1st March will decide who will go to the semi-finals and who will not. The format of Super-8 is such that the teams finishing in the top-2 of the points table of both the groups will reach the semi-finals.

Only one match of Super-8 will be played on Saturday, 21st February, in which Pakistan and New Zealand will compete. This match will start at 7 pm Indian time. Let us tell you that Pakistan, New Zealand, England and Sri Lanka have been placed in Group 2 of Super-8.

India’s first match in Super-8 will be with South Africa on 22 February, this match will be played in Ahmedabad. Team India’s second match will be with Zimbabwe on 26 February, which will be played in Chennai. The last match of the Indian team in Super-8 will be with West Indies on March 1, which is to be played in Kolkata.

England and Sri Lanka will clash in Super-8 on 22nd February itself. This match will be played at Pallekele Stadium in Sri Lanka.

Varun Chakraborty has been India’s most successful bowler in the tournament so far, having taken a total of 9 wickets so far.

Super-8 matches will be played from 21 February-1 March. 12 matches will be played in this stage and the top-2 teams of each group will qualify for the semi-finals. T20 World Cup Super 8 Teams: Seven teams have appeared in the Super-8 stage in the 2026 T20 World Cup. Both the co-host countries of the tournament i.e. India and Sri Lanka have also qualified for the next stage. On Tuesday, Zimbabwe vs Ireland match was canceled due to rain. Due to this, Australia is out of the T20 World Cup, while Zimbabwe has become the seventh team to go to the Super-8. Till now a total of 7 teams have entered the Super-8 stage. Their names India, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, West Indies, England, South Africa and New Zealand have confirmed their place in the next stage. Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe have qualified from Group B, while Australia is out. West Indies and England have reached Super-8 from Group C, while South Africa and New Zealand have qualified from Group D.

Now all eyes are on Group A, out of which India has already entered the Super-8. There is a war between Pakistan and USA for the second slot. Currently in Group A, both USA and Pakistan have four points each. But Pakistan is far behind in terms of net run-rate.

Pakistan’s last match in the group stage will be with Namibia on 18 February. If Pakistan team wins this match then it will qualify for Super-8, whereas if Namibia defeats Pakistan then USA will write a new history by going to Super-8.
