The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a big update late on Tuesday night and said that the deep depression over the Strait of Malacca has now turned into a cyclonic storm ‘Senyar’. This storm can hit the coast of Indonesia by Wednesday (26 November 2025) afternoon. According to IMD, in the last six hours the system took the form of a storm while moving towards the west at a speed of about 10 kilometers per hour. Because of this, the weather patterns have suddenly changed not only in South-East Asia but also in the coastal areas of India.

The Strait of Malacca is the place that connects the Andaman Sea to the South China Sea, so any storm formed here affects the eastern coasts of India. According to the IMD, the storm will maintain its intensity for the next 24 hours and then move in a west-southwest direction and may turn eastwards after 48 hours. Wind speed can reach 70–90 km per hour on Wednesday.

Heavy rain alert in Andaman and Nicobar

The first impact of the cyclonic storm will be seen on Andaman and Nicobar Islands. IMD said in its national bulletin that there will be heavy to very heavy rain at many places on 26 and 27 November. There will be less rain on 28–29 November but sea winds may remain strong. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea in the Andaman region.

Second system also active in Bay of Bengal

Apart from the storm over the Strait of Malacca, a distinct low pressure area has also formed in the south-west region of the Bay of Bengal. According to IMD, this system may turn into depression in the next 24 hours. Due to its movement in the north-northwest direction, there are chances of heavy rains in many districts of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala. Heavy rains have started in many areas of Tamil Nadu since Monday. Many parts of Tuticorin district have been submerged.

Schools and colleges closed in Tamil Nadu

In view of heavy rains and waterlogging, schools and colleges were closed in many districts of Tamil Nadu on Tuesday, but no official announcement has been made yet regarding the closure on Wednesday. IMD has warned that heavy rains with thunderstorms may continue in Tamil Nadu between 26–29 November. In such a situation, there is a possibility that institutions may be closed again in many districts, but this will be confirmed by the local administration.

Heavy rain in Kerala and Mahe on 26 and 27 November

The weather is changing rapidly in Kerala also. IMD estimates that heavy rain with thunder, lightning and high waves in the sea may be seen on Wednesday and Thursday. People living in coastal areas have been advised to take necessary precautions.

He alleged that the central government is trying to keep all the powers in its hands. Udhayanidhi said that power is gradually being concentrated in one place in the country and due to this the rights of the states are getting weakened. He also said that Tamil Nadu is troubled by many issues – like wrong distribution of taxes, stopping of funds, new education policy and future delimitation.

He said, “If any attempt is made to impose Hindi or any other language, we will not step back from fighting another language war.” He further said, “Tamils will never accept the 3 language formula. Tamil Nadu will always stand to protect its language and culture.”

The weather patterns have started changing across the country. As the month of November is passing, the cold is also increasing. On one hand, the weather remains clear and dry during the day, while on the other hand, as the evening approaches, a drop in temperature is also seen. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of a cyclonic storm. According to IMD, the new weather system forming in the Bay of Bengal is becoming increasingly active and it may take the form of a major cyclonic threat in the coming days.

According to IMD, the low pressure area near Malaysia and the Strait of Malacca currently remains there and the cyclonic circulation associated with it is active up to a height of 7.6 kilometers. It is estimated that this system will move in the west-northwest direction and turn into a depression over the South Andaman Sea in the next 24 hours and after that it may intensify into a cyclonic storm over the South Bay of Bengal in the next 48 hours.

Heavy rain in next 5 days
Due to the effect of this cyclonic system, heavy rains are going to start in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Lakshadweep and Coastal Andhra Pradesh in the next 5 days. A warning of very heavy rain has been issued in Tamil Nadu along with heavy rain from 25 to 27 November on 28, 29 and 30 November. There is a possibility of heavy rain in Kerala and Mahe till 26 November. There is a possibility of heavy rain in Andhra Pradesh and Yanam on 29 and 30 November.

No respite from poisonous air in Delhi
The weather has changed in Delhi due to change in wind direction. The minimum temperature in the capital once again fell below 10 degrees Celsius on Monday, while despite the full day’s sunshine, the maximum temperature of Delhi also remained below normal. Due to cold weather and low wind speed, the level of pollution is highest at night. There is no hope of relief from poisonous air for the next one week.

Cold is increasing in UP
The weather is changing rapidly in Uttar Pradesh and now gradually the cold is increasing at night. Coldness may increase in the coming days. Meteorologist Atul Kumar Singh said that the decline in temperature that has been going on for the last 2-3 days will continue for the next 48 hours. The weather may remain dry in the state on November 25. Similarly, on 26, 27 and 28 November, despite the clear weather in the state, there may be fog in the morning.

Now the minimum temperature has started falling in the state. In many districts the minimum temperature has fallen below 10 degrees Celsius. Barabanki, Kanpur Nagar, Etawah and Meerut have recorded a minimum temperature of 9 degrees Celsius, while Muzaffarnagar has recorded a minimum temperature of 9.8 degrees Celsius and Bareilly 9.9 degrees Celsius.
mercury dropped in bihar
In Bihar, the weather remains clear and dry during the day, while on the other hand, a drop in temperature is seen as the evening approaches. Fog is also being seen in many parts of the state. In the last 24 hours, dense fog was seen in 10 cities including Gopalganj, Begusarai.
MK Stalin on SIR: Tamil Nadu’s ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) on Monday filed a petition in the Supreme Court against the Special Intensive Revision process.

The move comes after the Election Commission of India (ECI) last week issued orders for the next phase of SIR of voter lists in 12 states and union territories, which will cover a total of 51 crore voters.

Nomination work will start from November 4

The nomination process for this phase will begin from November 4 and the final voter list will be published on February 7, 2026, with January 1, 2026, as the base date. Assembly elections are to be held in the five states/union territories next year in April-May 2026. West Bengal, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry are included in the list of 12 states where the SIR process will run in the next three months. However, Assam, which is one of the election states, is not included in this list.

CM M.K. Stalin accused ECI of conspiracy

On Monday, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin accused the Election Commission (ECI) of a conspiracy and said the SIR was a malicious attempt aimed at removing opposition voters.

Stalin said, “To stop this undemocratic step, we called an all-party meeting and passed a resolution condemning the SIR. The complete revision of the voter list by the Election Commission a few months before the elections is a deliberate strategy to remove legitimate voters.”

Big allegation made giving example of Bihar

CM Stalin alleged that a similar process was adopted in Bihar also, where lakhs of genuine voters were removed from the list. He said that the first opposition to this controversial process started from Tamil Nadu, after which Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and opposition leaders of Bihar also opposed it. Stalin said, “Even after the legal case was registered, the Election Commission did not give any satisfactory answer”.

AIADMK and BJP also targeted

Stalin met AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. He also made a scathing attack on Palaniswami and said that he was playing a double game and was afraid of the Election Commission because of his links with BJP. He further said that migrant laborers from Bihar have got respect and employment in Tamil Nadu, but the Prime Minister is “doing political drama for electoral gains in Bihar.”

Today, gathering of huge crowds of people has become common in India, the world’s most populous country. But since the beginning of this year till now, many serious accidents have happened in India due to this huge crowd. Be it the crowd of devotees in the temples, the victory ceremony, the crowd of passengers at the railway stations or the crowd of fans of the leaders at political rallies. So far this year, there have been eight stampede accidents in India, in which a total of 129 people have died.

In a country like India, during religious events, huge crowds of devotees often gather at temples and pilgrimage sites. This often leads to overcrowding in most cases and creates difficulties in security measures.

One such incident of stampede took place on Saturday (November 1, 2025) at Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple located in Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh. Where a huge crowd of devotees gathered on the occasion of Kartik Ekadashi and due to lack of adequate arrangements, nine people died and many were injured. A child was also included among those who died. Eyewitnesses of the accident blamed the poor crowd management system of the temple administration for this accident.
