Trump tarifs: The US announced a unilateral tariff against countries around the world including India. This decision of President Trump is being strongly criticized. After his move, while on the one hand, the US court called it illegal, on the other hand, this move of President Trump has created a big challenge in front of India’s exports. Many such sectors including leather, which required a lot of labor, have been in crisis due to 50 percent of the tariffs of America.

However, the central government has assured these sectors that they are working seriously and are also turning to other markets.

American tariff will get an answer

India, after changing its policy after the high tariff of America, has tried to improve the sour relationship with the neighboring country China to a great extent. From Chinese apps to many of their products, the routes of entry are also being opened. Along with this, work is also being done on free trade agreement with the European Union besides Russia and other countries.

Overall, the government is now taking all possible steps to compensate for the loss that is being taken due to the US tariff.

India-China fight together
Here, China has strongly opposed the high American tariff placed over India. Ambassador Shu Faihong said on Monday that China strongly opposed the 50 percent of the “unfair” fee imposed on India by the Trump administration. He also said that India and China should intensify economic relations to combat this challenge together.

The Chinese ambassador said that both India-China are victims of terrorism and Beijing is ready to work with the international community including New Delhi to deal with this challenge. He said in response to questions after his address at an event organized on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of China’s victory against Japan, that the US is using the fee as a type of ‘weapon’ to recover “excessive” tariffs from various countries. Two extremely important emerging economies India and China should cooperate with each other to deal with this situation.

Trump warns to china: Additional tariffs will be effective from US President Donald Trump as 25 percent penalty imposed on India from around 9.15 am on August 27. Meanwhile, the US President has now threatened to put 200 percent tariffs on China.

China threatens trump

Trump said that the world’s two major economies US and China will form a better relationship. But he warned that if needed, he can also ruin Beijing. President Trump, citing Beijing’s Rare Earth Policy, said that if it stops Beijing to supply Magnet to Washington, then he can put a huge tariff of up to 200 percent on it.

Trump said about controversies with China just before the bilateral meeting at the Oval Office with South Korean President Lee J. Monga that Washington’s position is much better than Beijing. He said that he may soon visit China and recently he had a conversation with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Trade war stopped for 90 days

It is worth noting that earlier this year, when the first time it was announced by US President Trump to impose tariffs against countries around the world. At that time, a trade war between the two countries started after China’s retaliation. However, it is currently pacified after talks between the two countries.

On August 12, it has been decided to keep the trading situation as it as possible for 90 days between the two countries. Earlier, the tariff rates above the Chinese goods were increased to 145 percent from the Trump. But after the talks between the two countries, these rates have been reduced to thirty percent at the moment.

The US has issued a formal notification to impose 25 percent additional tariffs on goods imported from India. This new tariff will be effective from August 27, 2025 at 12:01 pm (Indian time at 9:30 am). In the notification issued by the Trump administration, it has been said that this tariff is associated with the threats given by the Russian government to the US and under this India has been targeted.

What goods will be discount on

The effect of the new tariff can be seen on areas like jewelery, sea food, carpet, furniture chemicals, and auto parts. Some areas like human aids such as food, pharmaceuticals are still exempted from it. The goods which are in transit loaded on the ship before 27 August 2025 and reach America by 17 September 2025 will not put exemption on exemption.

Books, movies, posters, records, photos, CDs, art work will be exempted from additional tariffs. Some special sectors which have already been included in other executive orders, such as iron, steel, almunium, passenger vehicle, copper products will be discount on these items.

India, America’s third largest exporter

Donald Trump wants India to enter the US in its agriculture and dairy markets, but the Modi government has made it clear that it will take decisive steps to protect the interests of the farmers of the country.

India and Vietnam are the third largest exporter in the US after 9 per cent. In the last five years, India has increased its market share in the US on the price of China, which has increased from 6 per cent to 9 per cent, while China’s stake has come down from 38 per cent to 25 per cent.
