Rajya Sabha Election Result 2026: In the elections held for four Rajya Sabha seats from Karnataka, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has once again been elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha. Along with him, senior Congress leaders Pawan Kheda and Mansoor Ali Khan have also reached Rajya Sabha. All four candidates were declared elected unopposed.

Elections were announced for four Rajya Sabha seats in Karnataka as the tenure of the sitting MPs is ending on June 25. These include BJP’s Eranna Kadadi and Narayana Korgappa, Congress’s Mallikarjun Kharge and JD(S)’s former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda.

Five candidates had filed nominations

Initially, a total of five candidates had filed nominations for these four seats. The elections were to be held on June 18 and members of the Karnataka Assembly were to vote in Vidhana Soudha. But during the scrutiny of nomination papers, the nomination of an independent candidate was rejected. According to officials, after the last date of withdrawal of nominations ended on Thursday, only four candidates were left in the fray. After this, all four candidates were declared elected unopposed.

Pawan Kheda said- I will try to learn Kannada language

After being elected to Rajya Sabha, Pawan Kheda said that the Congress leadership has given him the opportunity to serve the people of Karnataka, which is a matter of pride for him. He said that he will try to live up to the expectations of the people. Pawan Kheda also said that next time he addresses the people, he will try to speak in Kannada language.

Mansoor Ali Khan expressed gratitude

Mansoor Ali Khan expressed gratitude to the party leadership for being sent to Rajya Sabha. He said that he has received the support of the party leadership at both the central and state levels. He assured that he will raise important issues related to Karnataka and the country in the Rajya Sabha and will raise his voice on issues of national interest. Mansoor Ali Khan is the son of former Union Minister and former Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha Rehman Khan. He said that he will work for the interests of both Karnataka and the country.

BJP won all three Rajya Sabha seats in Madhya Pradesh

Whereas in Madhya Pradesh, Bharatiya Janata Party has won all three Rajya Sabha seats unopposed. After the deadline for withdrawal of nominations ended on Thursday, BJP candidates Rajneesh Aggarwal, Tarun Chugh and Mahesh Kewat were declared victorious. Returning officer Arvind Sharma handed over election certificates to the three BJP candidates. Since there were no other candidates left in the fray, all three candidates were elected unopposed.

Congress candidate’s nomination was rejected

BJP’s victory was almost certain when the nomination papers of Congress’s lone candidate Meenakshi Natarajan were rejected on Tuesday. BJP leaders, including Mahesh Kewat, had lodged objections to her nomination. The BJP had alleged that Meenakshi Natarajan had hidden information about a case pending in a Hyderabad court in her election affidavit. After investigating the objection, the election officer accepted it as correct.

While announcing the decision, the returning officer said that Meenakshi Natarajan had submitted incomplete nomination papers and had also not informed about the court summons related to the rape case registered against a Congress leader in Telangana in 2022. On this basis, his nomination was cancelled, after which the path to victory of BJP candidates was cleared.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has released the first list of its candidates for the upcoming Rajya Sabha biennial elections 2026 on Thursday (June 4, 2026) evening. Both the leaders will not remain in the Union Council of Ministers

The Rajya Sabha tenure of Ravneet Singh Bittu, who holds the post of Minister of State for Railways in the Government of India, and George Kurien, Minister of State for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, Dairy Production and Minority Affairs, is ending this month on June 21, 2026. This means that both the leaders will no longer be in the Union Council of Ministers. Amidst the apprehension of change in the Union Council of Ministers, Union Minister of State for Railways Ravneet Singh Bittu had recently said that he is packing his bags and going to Punjab and will participate in the assembly elections to be held in Punjab next year.

At the same time, Union Minister of State for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, Dairy Production and Minority Affairs, George Kurien is a prominent leader of Kerala BJP, who was included in the Union Council of Ministers by giving him Rajya Sabha ticket in view of the state elections. Now in his place, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) General Secretary Tarun Chugh has been given Rajya Sabha ticket from Madhya Pradesh.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has nominated Tai Tagak from Arunachal Pradesh for the upcoming biennial elections 2026. Whereas, Raju Bhai Shukla, Mukesh Bhai Rathwa, Mansingh Parmar and Jitendra Meghjibhai Kanjariya have been declared candidates from Gujarat. While Tarun Chugh and Rajneesh Aggarwal from Madhya Pradesh, A. from Manipur. Dr. Satish Poonia has been made the candidate along with Sharda Devi and Dr. Alka Gurjar from Rajasthan. Along with this, BJP has announced the name of Debashish Samantrai for the by-election on the Rajya Sabha seat of Odisha.

The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National General Secretary Tarun Chugh said on Sunday (June 29, 2025) that his party’s government does not work by asking religion, but it is working towards women empowerment in accordance with the message of Prophet Muhammad Saheb. The BJP leader said, ‘Under the Ayushman Yojana, 21 crore Muslims of the country have been provided with insurance facilities up to five lakh rupees. Also, Muslim brothers and sisters are 36 percent of the Mudra scheme. This is the government of Modi ji, who looks at every citizen of the country with the same look.

Deputy Chief Minister Brijesh Pathak said on the occasion that the BJP government is the only government which has taken meaningful steps for the welfare of Muslims. State Minister of State for Minorities Welfare Danish Azad Ansari mentioned various schemes launched by the state government for education and self -reliance of Muslim society.

BJP government is doing good for Muslims

Before that, all the governments, whether it is of Congress, Samajwadi Party or Bahujan Samaj Party, has only used Muslims and that is why their condition is worse than Dalits and this has been proved by the report of Sachar Committee.

He said that programs will be organized in all the districts on the lines of today’s program organized by Morcha on the completion of 11 years of Modi government and Muslim society will be linked to BJP at booth level.
