With the launch of Tata Harrier facelift, it can give tough competition to Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. The new model of Tata Safari is coming in the market to compete with the petrol versions of Alcazar and Mahindra XUV700.

The facelift models of both Tata Safari and Harrier vehicles will be equipped with 1.5-litre turbocharged Hyperion petrol engine. Many other major changes have been made in the engine of this car. The vehicle is fitted with a water-cooled variable geometry turbocharger along with the engine. The engine found in Tata cars will provide power of 168-170 bhp at 5,500 rpm. At the same time, torque of 280 Nm will be generated at 2,000-3,000 rpm.

Tata Harrier and Safari are already in the market with both manual and automatic transmission options. Both gear boxes are expected to be available with this petrol engine.
