Air India loss: The new business of Tata Sons is not showing growth as expected. Due to which the financial pressure on the company seems to be increasing. According to the report, the total loss of these new ventures may reach around Rs 29,000 crore by the end of financial year 2026, which is higher than the earlier estimate.

Increasing financial pressure from Air India

Air India has currently emerged as the biggest loss making business segment for the group. This loss is being seen due to heavy investment and increasing operational costs.

It is estimated that its loss may reach around Rs 20,000 crore in the financial year 2026. Whereas in the first nine months of the financial year there has been a loss of about Rs 15,000 crore. Whereas in the last financial year this figure was around Rs 11,000 crore. The figures clearly show that there is immense pressure on the company.

Losses increasing due to new business

Losses in new businesses of Tata Sons seem to be increasing rapidly. A loss of about Rs 21,700 crore has been recorded in the first nine months of the current financial year alone. Which is more than Rs 16,550 crore of the entire last year.

The businesses which are incurring losses include Air India, Tata Digital, Tata Electronics and Tejas Networks. Where rising costs are leading Tata Sons’ business towards losses.

Other businesses are also under pressure

The troubles for Tata Sons are not limited to big business only. Its other ventures are also under immense pressure. For example, Tata Electronics is estimated to have a loss of around Rs 3,000 crore.

Besides, Tejas Networks is also on the verge of loss. Where the loss can reach the figure of around Rs 1,000 crore.
