Tata Motors has finally ended the long wait of its fans and today has prepared to present its iconic SUV Tata Sierra in a new avatar to the world. Sierra, which made its mark in the 90s, is now making a comeback as a modern and high-tech SUV. According to the report of Rushlane, its global unveil will take place today in Mumbai, and before the launch many of its spy shots and design details have been revealed.

Design of the new Tata Sierra

• This time the new Sierra has been completely designed as a lifestyle and family-friendly SUV. Instead of its old 3-door design, the company has now given a more practical 5-door layout. At the same time, Tata has also retained the ‘Alpine Window’ design, considered the identity of the SUV, with a modern touch, due to which a glimpse of the old Sierra is clearly visible in it. The new SUV has elements like boxy and muscular look, new pillar design, gloss-black finish, 19-inch alloy wheels, LED headlamp-taillamp, high bonnet and flush door handles, which make its design even more powerful.

Features will be very advanced

• The new Sierra is also going to be quite premium in terms of features. It is expected that it will be provided with features like dual-pane panoramic sunroof, Level-2 ADAS, full LED lighting, all-wheel disc brakes and OTA update support. The most important thing is that for the first time Tata is providing triple screen setup in any of its vehicles. Its interiors are expected to have two large 12.3-inch touchscreens and a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster. This full screen setup will make Sierra one of the most high-tech SUVs in its segment.

Engine and electric variants

• Both petrol and diesel engine options can be given in the new Sierra. There is a possibility of getting 1.5-liter naturally aspirated and turbocharged engine in petrol. At the same time, either the 2.0-litre engine from Harrier or the 1.5-litre engine from Curvv can be given in diesel. The thing that is being discussed the most is its electric variant. Sierra EV is expected to have a battery pack of about 65 kWh and a range of about 600 km.

Price of new Tata Sierra

According to reports, the starting price of the new Tata Sierra may be around Rs 11 lakh ex-showroom. However, according to the features and engine options, the price of its top model is likely to be much higher than this. Considering the modern design, premium features and the buzz about the electric variant, this SUV is all set to make a big comeback in the Indian market.

Maruti and Vitara

• Maruti Suzuki is going to launch its first EV e Vitara on 2 December. This SUV will come with two battery packs – 49kWh and 61kWh. The smaller battery pack will give a range of 344 km, while the larger pack will last up to 428 km. The range of the AWD model will be 394 km. Due to Maruti’s economical maintenance, this electric SUV can quickly become popular.

Tata Harrier and Safari Petrol

• Tata Motors is going to introduce its popular SUVs Harrier and Safari in the market with petrol engine option. Both will have 1.5 liter TGDi petrol engine, which will give 170PS power and 280Nm torque. Features and design will remain the same, but with the introduction of petrol engine, there can be a big jump in the sales of these SUVs.

New Kia Seltos

• Kia will launch the new generation Seltos in December 2025. There will be major changes in design and features in the new model. Engine options will remain almost the same, but the 1.5 liter diesel engine is likely to get a new 7-speed automatic gearbox.
