Tata Motors is going to launch its most awaited SUV Tata Sierra 2025 today i.e. on 25th November. There has been a lot of buzz about this SUV for the past several months, as it is the return of the brand’s iconic 90s model in a new avatar. According to reports, Sierra will be offered with ICE engine options first. Its unique design, new features and safety related features are making it a very attractive option in its category. Powerful and modern design of Tata Sierra

• The design of the new Tata Sierra is futuristic as well as matches its old model. A full-width LED light bar is provided at the front, along with which the textured grille and large ‘Sierra’ badging give the SUV a powerful look. LED headlamps and vertical fog lamps in the lower part make it more premium. The side profile features classic Alpine windows, blacked-out B-pillar, floating roof effect and 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels giving the SUV an ultra-modern look.

Luxury interior and features of Tata Sierra

• The interior of the SUV is based on black-grey theme, which is decorated with the new Theater Pro triple screen setup. It includes an instrument cluster and two large infotainment displays, which can be used by both the driver and passenger. Features include JBL’s 12-speaker Dolby Atmos soundbar, panoramic sunroof, ventilated and powered front seats, wireless charger, rear sunshades, 360-degree camera, connected car technology and multiple drive and terrain modes. Electronic parking brake and auto-hold further add to the premium experience of the SUV.

Specifications and powertrain

• Tata is going to offer three engine options in the new Sierra – 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine. These engines will come with manual and automatic gearbox options. Mileage is expected to be 15–18 kmpl in petrol models and 20+ kmpl in diesel models. Boot space can be around 500 litres.

How much will it cost?

• According to reports, the ex-showroom price of Tata Sierra can start from Rs 11–12 lakh and go up to Rs 22 lakh. After launch, it will compete with popular mid-size SUVs like Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara and Honda Elevate.

• This time the new Sierra has been completely designed as a lifestyle and family-friendly SUV. Instead of its old 3-door design, the company has now given a more practical 5-door layout. At the same time, Tata has also retained the ‘Alpine Window’ design, considered the identity of the SUV, with a modern touch, due to which a glimpse of the old Sierra is clearly visible in it. The new SUV has elements like boxy and muscular look, new pillar design, gloss-black finish, 19-inch alloy wheels, LED headlamp-taillamp, high bonnet and flush door handles, which make its design even more powerful.

Features will be very advanced

• The new Sierra is also going to be quite premium in terms of features. It is expected that it will be provided with features like dual-pane panoramic sunroof, Level-2 ADAS, full LED lighting, all-wheel disc brakes and OTA update support. The most important thing is that for the first time Tata is providing triple screen setup in any of its vehicles. Its interiors are expected to have two large 12.3-inch touchscreens and a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster. This full screen setup will make Sierra one of the most high-tech SUVs in its segment.

Engine and electric variants

• Both petrol and diesel engine options can be given in the new Sierra. There is a possibility of getting 1.5-liter naturally aspirated and turbocharged engine in petrol. At the same time, either the 2.0-litre engine from Harrier or the 1.5-litre engine from Curvv can be given in diesel. The thing that is being discussed the most is its electric variant. Sierra EV is expected to have a battery pack of about 65 kWh and a range of about 600 km.

Price of new Tata Sierra

According to reports, the starting price of the new Tata Sierra may be around Rs 11 lakh ex-showroom. However, according to the features and engine options, the price of its top model is likely to be much higher than this. Considering the modern design, premium features and the buzz about the electric variant, this SUV is all set to make a big comeback in the Indian market.
