TCS Employees Salary Hike: The country’s largest IT services company Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has given a big gift to its employees. The company has increased the salary of most employees from 4.5% to 7%. Late on Monday night, the company started sending increment letters to the employees and this increment will be implemented from September.

This increase has been done at a time when TCS trimmed about 12,000 employees a few months ago. At that time, both the IT sector and the stock market had heard a big echo and the company’s shares were seen to have a huge decline.

Who got the benefit?

According to reports, the benefit of increment has been mainly received from the lower level to the middle level employees. At the same time, more than 10% increment has been given to the best performing employees. Earlier, the company had recorded a slight increase in the rates of employees in the April-June quarter results, which reached 13.8%. Now this step of salary hike is considered important towards keeping employees connecting and boosting morale.

80 percent staff will increase salary

Human Resource Officer of TCS Milind Lakkad and CHRO Designette K. Sudeep said in a mail sent to the employees on Wednesday that the salary increment will be applicable from September 1.

The TCS has taken this step at a time with the aim of rewarding and maintaining talent when the company has decided to pruning more than 12,000 employees as part of its comprehensive strategy to ‘prepare the organization for the future’. The company says that it will be focused on investing in technology, deployment of Artificial Intelligence (AI), market expansion and investment reorganization.

Relief for employees

Significantly, TCS has a grade structure, which starts with ‘Y’ (Y), which is given to the trainee. This is followed by C1, C2, C3, C4, C5, and B as well as at the end of the company’s staff. Last week, market analysts indicated that the salary of the remaining employees could be increased after the trimming. It is believed that other companies can also take a decision on the same lines.
