The month of November is about to end and with it many of your important deadlines are also about to end! If you have not yet completed these important tasks, then definitely complete them before 30th November, otherwise you may lose these opportunities from 1st December. In this video, we are going to tell you in simple language what important tasks are mandatory for government employees, pensioners and taxpayers to complete by the end of November. Government Employees: If you want to choose UPS – Unified Pension Scheme, then keep in mind that its last date is 30th November. The government had earlier extended this date from September 30, but now after December 1, this option will be closed forever. So if you want to switch from NPS to UPS, do it in time. 2.(Pensioners): The last date for submission of Life Certificate is also 30th November. The good thing is that you can create a digital life certificate through Jeevan Pramaan sitting at home—no need to go to the bank, no need to stand in long lines. 3. (Taxpayers): If your TDS is deducted in October 2025, then it is necessary to file statement under section 194-IA, 194-IB, 194M, 194S. Apart from this, the last date of Section 92E and Form 3CEAA is also the same. Also, changes may be seen in the prices of LPG cylinder, ATF and flight tickets from December 1. Have you completed your work? Let us know in the comments!

The Income Tax Department has extended the last date for filing income tax returns for the financial year 2024-25 to 15 September. Now there is only one week left in the deadline, but the speed of the returns filed till September 7 is much slower than expected. Usually people believe that if their annual income is less than tax free limit then there is no need to fill ITR. The reality is that in some circumstances it is mandatory to file ITR, even if your taxable income is zero. Not doing so can only impose penalty, but notice can also be sent by the Income Tax Department.

On depositing more than one crore in current account

If you have deposited an amount of Rs 1 crore or more in any bank’s current account within 1 year, then it is necessary to file an ITR. This rule applies to both cash and digital transactions. The aim of the government is to monitor such big transactions so that black money can be stopped.

On spending more than 2 lakhs on travel abroad

If you have spent 2 lakh or more on foreign travel throughout the year, then it is mandatory to file returns. It is necessary to file an ITR in both the conditions of tea personal trip or business trip.

Electricity bill is over 1 lakh

If your annual electricity bill comes more than Rs 1, then the Income Tax Department makes it mandatory to file an ITR to track the difference between your expenses and income. This rule covers those who show less earnings but spend more.

ITR is also necessary on cutting TDS

If your income is cut on your income 25 thousand rupees or more TDS, then you will have to file ITR. At the same time, this limit has been kept at 50 thousand for senior citizens. Its aim is to ensure that the tax on which the tax is deducted, they give the correct details of their income.

Foreign property or bank account people

If you have any property in another country or you have a signing authority in a bank account of a foreign, then you have to fill ITR in any case. While filing ITR, you have to give complete information about your foreign income and assets. These rules of the Income Tax Department have been made to monitor those whose declared income is low. But their expenses and transactions are large.

Income tax return: The date of filing intestated tax returns is coming closer. 31 July is the last date to file ITR. By the way, you can file returns even after this date, but you will have to pay a penalty or pay interest on tax. Filing ITR is the legal responsibility of every citizen, but it has many other benefits, so it is necessary to fill it carefully. Before filing ITR, do not forget to check the Form 26AS and Annual Information Statement (AIS), otherwise your refund may be stuck.

Form 26AS

Form 26AS is your annual tax statement, which has complete details of tax paid. It is linked to your PAN number, so you can remove it by visiting the Income Tax Department website.

Form 26AS also contains information about TDS deduction, your deposited advance tax, self assessment tax, TCS and refund issued by Income Tax Department. In this, the name of the tax deduct person/institution is also mentioned in the amount of tax, etc.

Apart from this, details of heavy transactions are also seen in the form such as payment of more than 50 thousand life insurance premium, more than 20 thousand health insurance premium payment, more than 1,00,000 educational fees or donation payment, payment of more than 20,000 property tax etc.

While filing the return, you should have a match with TDS amount and TDS present in 26 AS. Due to a slight difference in this, you can come under the circle of questions of Income Tax Department. If the details shown in 26As make your return match, then the Income Tax Department processes it quickly and you make it easier to get the refund quickly.

Annual information statement

Many times we do not remember the previous details while filing the Income Tax Return (ITR). AIS was introduced in November 2021 to solve this problem. You have an official website of income tax www.incometax.gov.in Can download from It contains all the information of taxpayers, which is already with the Income Tax Department. They are in two parts-

Part A: It contains general information of taxpayer such as PAN, Aadhaar number, mobile number, email ID, address, name and date of birth. If there is a company instead of individual, then the date of establishment of the company is mentioned instead of birth.

Part B: It contains technical information related to your tax.

The Income Tax Department has sent notice to several taxpayers regarding the assessment years 2023-2024 and 2024-2025. It says that you have claimed for house rent allowance (HRA) during this time, but TDS did not cut it.

Abhishek Murali, President of All India Taxpayers Association, told the media that if you want to file updated returns by reducing your claim, then this is the right time.

He said, “If you are living in a house as a tenant and paying 50,000 or more rent every month, as per the Income Tax Act, as a tenant, you will have to deduct TDS on the rent given to the landlord (effective from the rent given to the landlord (effective from October 2024, earlier). Therefore, the tenant is responsible for cutting TDS. The tenant will have to deduct TDS and deposit the income tax department and give the rest of the money to the landlord.

What will happen if TDS is not bitten?

He said, “If a tenant does not do this, then he will be considered a default taxpayer. In such a situation, interest, fine or penalty can be imposed to you from the department. This is different in different cases. For how long you have not cut TDS, it also depends on it. Usually, one to 1.5 percent per month can be. ”Abhishek Murali also mentioned the tax exemption on it.

He said, “If the landlord has filed income tax returns and has shown rental income and has also paid tax, then in this case there will be no default nor any interest or penalty will have to be paid.”
