It is very difficult to convince people. You may be a fan of a particular player, but the most thankless job in cricket is that of a selector.”

BCCI has announced the selection committee of the Indian women’s cricket team. Former India cricketer Amita Sharma has been appointed as the chairman of the selection committee, while Jayesh George has been appointed as the chairman of the Women’s Premier League. Amita Sharma will replace Neetu David as chairman. Shyama Dey, Sulakshana Nayak, Jaya Sharma and Shravanti Naidu will work with him in the selection committee.

According to the news agency IANS, a high official of BCCI has confirmed that Praveen Kumar has not made any application for the post of selectors. Praveen Kumar was known for his tremendous swing bowling. He played 6 Tests, 68 ODIs and 10 T20 matches for India, in which he took a total of 112 wickets.

The BCCI had announced the merit of the posts of selector and said that the applicant should be such that it has been at least five years for retirement. The applicant should have 7 Test matches or 30 first-class matches. Or applicants playing 10 ODI and 20 first-class matches will also be considered. The applicant should not be a part of any cricket committee of BCCI for the last 5 years. Currently, the Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar is, besides SS Das and Ajay Ratra in the committee.

There is going to be a big change in the selection committee of the Indian cricket team. Recently, the tenure of Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar was extended till June 2026, while 2 new selectors are reported to have come.
