Diplomacy in West Asia has intensified after the recent MoU between Iran and America. Meanwhile, Mohsin Naqvi is going to reach Tehran on Saturday (20 June 2026). According to Iranian news agency ISNA, Pakistan’s Interior Minister will hold important talks with Iranian leaders. According to IRNA, Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baghai said that Mohsin Naqvi will reach Tehran on Saturday afternoon, where he will meet Eskandar Momeni and Abbas Araghchi.

According to sources, many important issues related to the US-Iran agreement will be discussed in this meeting. This includes relief in economic sanctions, verification system to monitor the commitments of both sides and talks on technical aspects related to the nuclear program.

Big update regarding Strait of Hormuz

Meanwhile, an important update has also come out regarding the Strait of Hormuz. The Persian Gulf Strait Authority has said that ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz can submit their requests as per the prescribed procedure. This indicates that efforts are underway to maintain normal maritime traffic in the region. However, tension in the area has not completely ended. Peace between Eskandar Momeni and Abbas Araghchi seems to be weakening once again. New reports of Israeli attacks have emerged, in which many people are reported killed. This has further increased concerns about regional stability.

Increasing tension in Lebanon could create problems

The increasing tension in Lebanon may affect the ongoing peace process between Iran and America. The 14-point MoU between the two countries aims to stop regional military activities, including in Lebanon, and reach a final agreement within 60 days. Pakistan Home Minister Mohsin Naqvi has once again reached Tehran on a visit. Naqvi has gone to Iran to deliver the message of Pakistan Field Marshal Asim Munir and Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif. This is the third visit of Naqvi, considered one of the top leadership of Pakistan, to Iran since the Iran-America war started.

Iran’s Tasnim News Agency reported that Mohsin Naqvi has reached Tehran to hand over a special letter to Mojtaba Khamenei on behalf of Pakistan’s Army Chief and Prime Minister. Naqvi said, ‘I have come to Iran with a special letter for Mojtaba Khamenei on behalf of the Army Chief and Prime Minister of Pakistan.’ According to reports, Mohsin Naqvi is also scheduled to have a meeting with the leadership of Iran during this period.

America-Iran ceasefire at critical juncture
Mohsin Naqvi’s visit to Iran is also taking place at a time when talks between America and the Muslim country are at a critical juncture. Trump is continuously threatening the leadership of Iran. Also, a condition has been set to take out the enriched uranium from Iran. Apart from this, questions are being raised on Pakistan’s mediation within America itself.
