They have established themselves in Peshawar’s Badaber, Mattani and Bar Road areas, which were earlier under the control of Frontier Corps and Police. TTP has made these places semi-permanent logistics and recovery centres. This helps them collect weapons, recruit new fighters and raise funds for operations.

With the withdrawal of police posts in the Khyber-Mohmand belt, TTP has created shadowy administrative structures.
