Today (Friday) is the last date for nomination for 121 assembly constituencies in the first phase of Bihar elections (2025). Nominations will be scrutinized tomorrow (October 18, 2025). Meanwhile, the richest candidate of Bihar has been revealed from the affidavit filed by the candidates. The names of leaders like Lalu’s son Tejashwi Yadav or Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary are not among the richest candidates.

In fact, with the nomination in Bihar elections, information about the assets and cases of the leaders is continuously coming to light. Shishir Kumar, son of Patna Mayor Sita Sahu, has assets worth Rs 23.36 crore and is the richest candidate. Samrat Chaudhary is the BJP candidate from Tarapur assembly seat. In his affidavit, he has given details of movable and immovable assets worth Rs 11.31 crore.

Tej Pratap Yadav has assets worth Rs 2.88 crore.

Lalu Prasad Yadav’s elder son Tej Pratap Yadav is the owner of total assets worth Rs 2.88 crore. There has been a slight increase in his wealth in the last five years. After being expelled from RJD, Tej Pratap has recently formed a new political party called Janashakti Janata Dal. In the affidavit filed before the election officer along with the nomination papers, he said that he has movable assets worth Rs 91.65 lakh, which is less than Rs 1.22 crore declared in the year 2020. His immovable assets are worth Rs 1.96 crore, which was Rs 1.6 crore five years ago.

Tejashwi has movable and immovable assets worth Rs 8.1 crore.

Tej Pratap’s younger brother Tejashwi Yadav is contesting elections from Raghopur. He has movable and immovable assets worth about Rs 8.1 crore. According to the affidavit, Tejashwi Yadav’s wife Rajshree Yadav has assets worth Rs 1.88 crore. Tejashwi has movable assets worth Rs 6.12 crore and immovable assets worth Rs 1.88 crore. His wife Rajshree owns immovable property worth Rs 59.69 lakh. Tejashwi has Rs 1.5 lakh in cash, while his wife has Rs 1 lakh in cash.

In the Bihar Assembly elections, political turmoil has intensified due to the cancellation of ticket of Janata Dal United (JDU) MLA Gopal Mandal from Gopalpur. The party has expressed confidence in Bulu Mandal in his place. Angered by being denied ticket, Gopal Mandal has now announced to contest the elections as an independent.

Expressing his displeasure, Gopal Mandal made serious allegations against the top leadership of JDU. Gopal Mandal said, “I don’t know how my ticket was cut. Nitish Kumar had brought me to JDU and he was the one who supported me.”

‘Now upper caste people sit around Nitish Kumar’

Making a big attack, Gopal Mandal said, “Now Nitish Kumar has been hijacked by the big leaders of the party. He is being misled. Now only people from the upper caste sit around him, not people from the most backward class.”

Gopal Mandal, famous for his outspokenness, said, “I am a bit of a braggart, I say it directly.” He also made a statement regarding his safety and said, “I always carry a pistol or a rifle. If someone shoots me, will I remain silent or kiss?”

Gopal Mandal will contest elections as an independent

Expressing confidence, Gopal Mandal said that he will contest the elections as an independent candidate and is confident of victory. The ticket was in my pocket, but only Nitish Kumar can tell how it was cut. There is no competition with me, victory will be ours.

Mandal also revealed that he had also received an offer from Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), but he did not respond to it. He said, “I still have faith in Nitish Kumar, but something is going wrong in the party.” He told that he will file nomination after seeing the auspicious time from Pandit.

Senior Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Tejashwi Yadav filed his nomination for the Bihar Assembly elections on Wednesday (October 15). Tejashwi Yadav is a candidate from Raghopur assembly seat of Vaishali district. In the affidavit filed during nomination, Tejashwi has given information about his total assets.

Tejashwi Yadav has informed in the affidavit that he has total assets worth around Rs 8.1 crore. Apart from this, Tejashwi also has many luxurious and expensive things, including an Italian made pistol and 50 live cartridges worth Rs 1.05 lakh. Apart from this, a desktop and a laptop are also included in it.

Movable assets worth Rs 6.12 crore

The RJD leader’s announcement also includes movable and immovable property. Tejashwi Yadav’s total assets include movable assets worth Rs 6.12 crore and immovable assets worth Rs 1.88 crore.

Tejashwi Yadav’s wife Rajshree Yadav has declared assets worth Rs 1.88 crore, which includes immovable property worth Rs 59.69 lakh. It has been told in the affidavit that Tejashwi has Rs 1.5 lakh in cash, while Rajshree has Rs 1 lakh.

Tejashwi and wife have about 50 tola gold

He has several bank accounts and has liabilities of Rs 55.55 lakh. Tejashwi Yadav also gave information about 200 grams of gold and 2 kilograms of silver, while Rajshree has 480 grams of gold.

Rs 1.35 crore government dues

The RJD leader has total government dues of Rs 1.35 crore, while his wife has no dues or liabilities. While filing nomination, RJD made a huge show of strength, in which thousands of supporters took part in the road show.

‘The people of Raghopur will bless me’- Tejashwi Yadav

Senior party leaders including Lalu Prasad Yadav, Rabri Devi, Misa Bharti and Sanjay Yadav were with Tejashwi during the nomination process. Before filing the nomination, Tejashwi said, “The people of Raghopur have trusted me twice. This is my third nomination, and I am confident that they will bless me again. The people of Bihar are fed up with crime, corruption and unemployment. This time change is certain. Bihar will get a grand alliance government.”
