A strange scene is being seen these days in the streets of Jubilee Hills of Telangana regarding the by-elections. This is not just an election, but a drama being staged by the leaders, which is staged for a few days and then the curtain falls. Seeing this, some may feel sad, some may get angry, but to be honest, it is interesting what politics makes the leaders do.

In this race to gather votes, leaders are abandoning their real work i.e. public welfare and development and doing such work which does not match their position and prestige. Some leaders are shaving at barber shops, while others are trying to prove themselves as a common man by driving auto-rickshaws on the road. Someone is making tea at a tea shop, while someone is sweeping a house for two minutes. See the irony, these are the same leaders who are not seen in their areas for months and suddenly become laborers as soon as the elections come.

All this is just a show, so that the voters can be wooed. Leaders know where the pulse of the people lies and hence they try to create an emotional connect by doing work related to poverty, simplicity and everyday struggles. Even in a prestigious area like Jubilee Hills, where the real need is infrastructure and better governance, leaders are channeling their energies into such populist stunts.

The world knows that once the elections are over, these leaders will return to their suits and air-conditioned offices. This passion of working among the public is just a fever for a few days. After which they will disappear in the same way as the horn disappears from the head of a donkey.

The public also understands that this is all an election gimmick, but they are forced to be a part of this game. The question is whether this time the public will ignore this pretense and choose a leader who does real work or will they once again fall prey to these drama leaders.

Former cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin, who has hit sixes on the cricket pitch, is also seen hitting sixes on the political pitch. There is news that he will be included in the Telangana cabinet. He will take oath as minister on October 31.

Important decision during election period
The Congress government has taken the decision to include Azharuddin in the cabinet at the same time when by-elections are to be held in Jubilee Hills on November 11. The number of Muslim votes in this seat is quite high and it is believed that Azharuddin’s entry will strengthen the support of the minority community in favor of Congress.

Azharuddin had recently reached the Legislative Council
In August this year, Azharuddin was nominated as a Legislative Council member from the Governor quota. This nomination happened when the Supreme Court had canceled the two earlier nominations of Kodandaram and Aamir Ali Khan. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy had included the names of both Kodandaram and Azharuddin in the revised list.

Trying to send a message to the Muslim community
Till now there was no Muslim minister in the Congress government. Because of this, the resentment of the minority community was visible from inside and outside the party. By making Azharuddin a minister, Congress has tried to give the message that it wants to give representation to all sections.

Revanth Reddy cabinet will now have 16 ministers
After Azharuddin’s inclusion, the number of ministers in Revanth Reddy cabinet will increase to 16. There can be a total of 18 members (including the Chief Minister) in the Telangana Council of Ministers. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy was sworn in on December 7, 2023, when Congress defeated Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) in the elections. The first cabinet was formed on the same day, while the first expansion took place in June 2025, in which three new ministers were added.

Azharuddin is related to Jubilee Hills
Azharuddin had contested the 2023 assembly elections as a Congress candidate from Jubilee Hills seat, but lost to BRS’s Maganti Gopinath. By-election is being held on this seat after the death of Gopinath in June this year. Congress is trying its best to win this seat and it is believed that Azharuddin’s popularity can prove beneficial for the party.

Azharuddin’s journey in politics
Former Indian cricket team captain Mohammad Azharuddin entered politics from Congress in 2009 and won the Lok Sabha elections from Moradabad (Uttar Pradesh). In 2014, he contested the elections from Tonk-Sawai Madhopur seat of Rajasthan, but lost. In 2018, he was made the working president of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee and in 2023 he contested the assembly elections from Jubilee Hills.

Former India captain and Congress leader Mohammad Azharuddin can be included in the Telangana cabinet. This discussion has intensified because it has been decided to nominate them for the Legislative Council (MLC) under the Governor quota. He also thanked the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister of the state and wrote, “I am committed to serve my kingdom with honesty and dedication.”

The IANS report, citing Congress leaders, wrote that Azharuddin’s enrollment as LMC will strengthen their way to join the state cabinet.

How many ministers are there in Telangana government

There are 14 ministers including Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. 3 seats are vacant. Mohammad Azharuddin was an MP from Moradabad in UP (2009-2014) before becoming the executive president of Telangana Congress. He also became the 27th President of the Hyderabad Cricket Association in 2019.

Telangana Government on Human Trafficking: After the matter of selling two Dalit women from Asifabad district of Telangana, the state government has announced to set up a special cell for prevention of women trafficking. This decision is taken after the exposure of a comprehensive human trafficking network. Of the nine accused involved in this case, six have been arrested by the police so far.

Women sold by sending to Madhya Pradesh by deception

According to the police, a 22 -year -old girl from Wadigondi village in Asifabad district of Telangana was missing for the last one year. During the updation of his Aadhaar card, the matter was revealed only after getting the address and contact number of Madhya Pradesh. Similarly, another 25 -year -old woman under Asifabad district headquarters was also sent to Madhya Pradesh by deception.

When the police investigated intensely in this case, the shocking fact was revealed. Police came to know that these two women were sold for Rs 1.30 lakh and 1.10 lakh respectively.

Police sent MP to arrest the three accused absconding

The arrest of six accused in the case has already been done, now the police have sent a special team in Madhya Pradesh to search for the remaining three absconding accused. The arrested accused include four local women, who are accused of winning the trust of the victims and implicating them. Police officials believe that this gang may be active for a long time and would have developed a broad network.

Out of a total of 9 accused involved in the case, 5 women involved

Detailed information about the accused shows that these include five women and four men. Three of these accused are residents of Madhya Pradesh, two in Manchurial district and four of Asifabad district. Seeing the seriousness of the matter, the police has formed a special investigation team. DSP Ramanjam said in this regard that the police is committed to fully highlight this network of human trafficking.
