BSF-PUNJAB Police Joint Operation in Amritsar: There has been a major success against terrorism in Amritsar district of Punjab, located near the international border. A joint team of Border Security Force (BSF) and Punjab Police have recovered large quantities of weapons, ammunition and hand grenades in village Bhapol. This action has proved to be a milestone in preventing a possible terrorist incident.

On the basis of information received from BSF’s intelligence branch, a joint search operation was carried out near village Bhapol. The following deadly materials were recovered in this campaign, which is as follows.

• 3 pistols
• 6 magazines
• 50 live cartridges
• 2 hand grenades

All weapons and ammunition have now been handed over to the local police and the investigation is on.

Why is this recovery important?
Cases such as smuggling arms through drones on the Indo-Pak border, and funding of radical organizations have gained momentum. This type of recovery shows that India’s security agencies are completely cautious and are ready to stop any suspicious activity.

Joint action stopped big terrorist conspiracy
In this operation, BSF and Punjab Police worked with mutual coordination, which proves that strong coordination between the state and the central agencies has become an effective weapon against terrorism. On the occasion, BSF officials said that due to our vigilance and local intelligence information, there has been great success in this campaign. This has prevented a possible terrorist attack. Let me tell you that there was a recent Pahalgam terrorist attack, in which 26 innocent people died. After the incident, the central government has directed the intelligence agency and said that by doing operations from its level, work to stop the incident of terrorist attack.
