This price is of factory level.

If 15 to 20 percent import duty is reduced on Tesla cars in India, then the car’s on road with road tax, insurance etc. will be $ 40,000 (about Rs 35-40 lakh). But the report says that if Tesla keeps its model 3 at 20-50 per cent higher than domestic EV models like Mahindra Xev 9E, Hyundai E-Creta, and Maruti Suzuki E-Vitara, then there is no possibility of any significant change in the Indian EV market.

The report also states that Tesla would need to establish a manufacturing facility in India to make his cars more economical and increase its operations, even if the import duty is reduced by 20 percent. Tesla is seen preparing to launch its models in Delhi and Mumbai in the coming months. Tesla has also officially started its recruitment process in India.
