Actually, an Indian businessman has launched ‘Test Twenty’ league, in which a total of 6 teams can participate.

It is being told that the ‘Test Twenty’ league can start in January next year. Apart from three Indian teams, three international teams can participate in it. Among the international teams, one each may be from Dubai, London and the last team may be from USA. But what is this ‘Test Twenty’ league and how will it be played? How will ‘Test Twenty’ matches be played?

Test cricket has been given the touch of ‘T20’. The entire match will be played in a single day, in which 80 overs will be bowled from start to finish and each innings will be of 20 overs. That means each team will bat in 2 innings of twenty overs each in the match. The result of the match can come in the form of win, loss, tie and draw. In case the match is tied, a super over will be conducted.

In a match, the team will get only one powerplay, which after taking it will continue for 4 consecutive overs. This captain will decide in which innings he has to take the powerplay, first or second. Usually in Test, follow-on is given when the lead is 200 runs or more, but in Test Twenty, follow-on can be given when the lead is 75 runs or more.

Overs will increase in the match, how?

If the team playing first is all out in 7 overs, then the team batting in the second innings will get 3 extra overs. Therefore, he will get 23 overs for batting in the first innings instead of 20. However, it will not have any impact on the second innings. A bowler can bowl only 8 overs in both the innings together.
