Now before becoming a candidate, the House requires the support of at least 50 MPs. After that, more than half of the existing 492 members of the lower house, ie 247 votes are required to become Prime Minister. If the candidate fails for the qualification of the post, then the meeting of the House will be called again and the same process will be repeated. There is no time limit for this process.
