India Post Payments Bank: Public sector India Post Payments Bank will provide digital life certificate services to EPFO ​​pensioners at their doorstep. An MoU has been signed between the two organizations in this regard. Under this collaboration, India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) will leverage its wide network of over 1.65 lakh post offices and three lakh postal service providers (postmen and Gramin Dak Sevaks) who are equipped with banking tools.

These devices are used for the digital process of facial recognition technology and ‘fingerprint’ biometric verification to assist EPFO ​​pensioners in submitting their digital life certificates.

Information regarding the agreement

India Post Payments Bank has signed an MoU with the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) to provide doorstep digital life certificate services to its pensioners under the Employees’ Pension Scheme, 1995. Digital Life Certificate (DLC) helps pensioners to do online verification instead of coming to the office for verification every year. This eliminates the need for them to visit bank branches or EPFO ​​offices to submit traditional paper-based certificates.

According to the statement issued, EPFO ​​will bear the entire cost of issuing the digital life certificate. With this, this service will be free for their pensioners. India Post Payments Bank had launched the doorstep service of Digital Life Certificate in 2020 to generate life certificate for pensioners using Aadhaar enabled biometric verification to reduce the time taken in issuing life certificate.

Visvesvaran said, this partnership with EPFO ​​reaffirms IPPB’s mission to deliver essential financial and civic services to every household in India. With access to our technology-enabled postal network and reliable final leave, EPFO ​​pensioners will now be able to submit their life certificate with ease.

According to the statement, to avail this service, EPFO ​​pensioners will have to contact their postman or Gramin Dak Sevak or visit their nearest post office, provide Aadhaar number and pension details for facial authentication or fingerprint biometric verification linked to Aadhaar.

Pensioners should submit life certificate on these dates

General pensioners of Central and State Government submit their life certificate between 1st November to 30th November. So that there is no interruption in their pension. At the same time, the government has started the date of submission of life certificate for pensioners above 80 years of age from October 1 itself.

So that they do not face the problem of crowd and also get extra time. If you do not submit your life certificate on these dates, your pension may be stopped.

If you are facing trouble in making life certificate digitally, then you can get your life certificate made from the nearest bank branch, post office and common service center. Also, for hospitalized and seriously ill pensioners, many banks and post offices send their representatives to get life certificates made at home.

Pensioners can use Jeevan Praman portal or UMANG App to make life certificate online. Under this, biometric verification of pensioners is done after filling the Aadhaar number, mobile number and pension account information. If all the information is correct, your life certificate is created. This proof ID is sent to the concerned bank or department.
