Pitra Paksha time is now going to be left. Sunday 21 September 2025 is the Sarva Pitra Amavasya, which is considered to be the last day of Pitra Paksha. Tributes are paid to the ancestors through Tarpan, Pindadan and Shraddha in Pitru Paksha.

It is believed that in 15 days of Pitru Paksha, ancestors come to earth and meet their family in some form or the other. If you know or ignore the fathers inadvertently, then the ancestors can be angry with you. Therefore, know in what forms the ancestors come in the ancestral side.

The crow is considered to be the form of ancestors. Therefore, the food made for fathers in Shraddha is also extracted for crows. Along with this, the arrival of birds like pigeon, goureya in the ancestral side can also be the form of the arrival of ancestors.

At the time of Pitra Paksha, animals like cows and dogs should not be disrespectful. If these animals come to the door of the house, then instead of abusing them, they should definitely give them something to eat. Pitra will be pleased with this.

If you come to the house at home at the time of Pitra Paksha, do not insult them and do not forget to insult them even empty handed. Because they are also considered to be the form of ancestors. Therefore, provide them with food and give them off by giving them donations.

The period from Pratipada to Amavasya of Ashwin month is called Pitra Paksha. This year Pitru Paksha will start from 7 September and will run till 21 September. The 15 -day period of Pitru Paksha is dedicated to the dead ancestors.

Pindadan, shraddha and tarpan are mainly performed in Pitru Paksha for the peace, satisfaction of the soul of the ancestors and freedom from Pitra dosha. At this time, one has to follow charity, worship and some rules.

The time of Pitra Paksha is also considered auspicious for planting some trees and plants. At the time of Shraddha, worshiping these trees and plants and planting them is pleased and blesses to flourish his descendants. Peepal- According to Hindu belief, the Peepal tree resides along with the gods as well as the ancestors. Therefore, it is considered good not only to worship the Peepal tree at the time of Pitru Paksha but also planting the plant of Peepal. The ancestors are pleased with this and shower their blessings on the whole family. But instead of home, apply Peepal in an open place or temple.

Tulsi- It is also good to plant a basil plant at home at the time of Pitru Paksha. At this time, planetary plants are removed by planting a basil plant. Also, Lakshminarayan’s blessings are also received.

Banyan- Banyan or Vat tree is considered a symbol of longevity and immortality. Banyan tree is also worshiped during Pitru Paksha. By planting Vat tree in Pitru Paksha, ancestors bless their descendants. But keep in mind that put on an open place outside the house of the Vat tree.
