Kolkata: Trinamool Congress (TMC) rebel MP Shatabdi Roy in West Bengal has reacted to the ongoing developments within the party. Talking to journalists, he said that the next Parliament session is going to be held in July and at that time it will be clear what is going to happen next. Shatabdi Roy said, “The next Parliament session is in July. Then we will see what happens.” Apart from this he said that you people are driving me crazy.

Shatabdi Roy also said that at present the leader and deputy leader will be decided. That is, at this time the first decision has to be taken on the issues related to the leadership of the parliamentary party. Only after this the further situation will emerge. In recent times, there is a continuous discussion about the ongoing dispute within TMC and rebel MPs. At such a time, this statement of Shatabdi Roy is being considered politically important. However, he did not give any additional information about possible further action or any other decision and only said that the situation will become clear in the Parliament session in July.

Meeting with Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla

After the meeting of rebel TMC MPs with Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, rebel TMC MP Shatabdi Roy said that they have merged with NCPI (Nationalist Citizens Party of India). He said that further strategy will be decided according to time. Shatabdi Roy further said that he has not made any claim on the party’s election symbol. According to him, now the Lok Sabha Speaker will decide what decision will be taken in this matter.

Trinamool Congress MP Shatrughan Sinha has praised PM Modi for becoming India’s longest continuously elected Prime Minister. All this is happening at a time when the list of 19 rebel TMC MPs has come out, in which Shatrughan Sinha’s name is also included. Sharing a picture with PM Modi on Instagram, he wrote, ‘Heartiest congratulations to our friend with true sporting spirit, guide of the country and society, Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji on completing 12 years in office. I will never leave my sister: Shatrughan Sinha

However, he maintained his loyalty towards Mamata Banerjee and said, ‘I will never leave Didi.’ He clearly denied being in the rebel group led by MP Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar. He said, ‘A lot has been said about me. Some people are saying that I am part of the rebel group. All this is not true.” He stressed that he will never leave Mamata Banerjee.

Didi was with me in difficult times: Shatrughan Sinha

Shatrughan Sinha said, ‘Mamata Banerjee stood with me in difficult times. I will also stand with them in difficult times. On the request of TMC Chief Mamata Banerjee, he contested the Lok Sabha elections from Asansol. I will never leave my sister. Shatrughan Sinha started his political career with BJP. After serving for decades as a prominent BJP leader and former Union Minister, he left the party.

Shatrughan Sinha contested the 2019 Lok Sabha elections from Patna Sahib on a Congress ticket, but lost. In 2022, he joined Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress and won the Asansol Lok Sabha by-election. Even in 2024, he retained the Asansol seat as a TMC candidate.

Mamata Banerjee would never have imagined that after losing the assembly elections in West Bengal, her party TMC would have to fight for survival. U-turn of Sayani Ghosh’s politics

According to reports, the politics of Sayani Ghosh, who once openly challenged BJP, has taken a U-turn. The name of Jadavpur MP Sayani Ghosh is also included in the group of 20 MPs which is considering supporting the NDA government in the Lok Sabha. The leader of this group is Kakoli Ghosh, who has even said that she may join BJP.

His aggressive campaigning against BJP during the West Bengal Assembly elections brought him very close to Mamata Banerjee. Not only within the party, but during the election campaign many people saw the image of Mamata Banerjee in her. During the election campaign for Mamata Banerjee, his song ‘Ekbar Chhede De Nauka Majhi, Jabo Madina… Aamar Hriday Majhe Kaaba, Nayane Madina.’ Was much discussed. BJP had called it polarizing.

Sayani Ghosh soon became close to Mamata

After Raghav Chaddha joined BJP, Sayani Ghosh had said in an interview, ‘Chaddha may become Chaddi, but Ghosh will always remain Ghosh.’ Then BJP had accused him of insulting the Sikh and Punjabi communities. Sayani Ghosh joined TMC ahead of the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections. She quickly became one of the party’s most prominent campaigners due to her impassioned speeches targeting the BJP and her strong public support for Mamata Banerjee.

Last week, under the leadership of Ritabrata Banerjee, 58 out of total 80 MLAs of the party openly rebelled and claimed to become the main opposition party in Bengal. The Speaker of the West Bengal Assembly last Wednesday recognized Ritabrata Banerjee (3 June 2026) as the Leader of the Opposition of West Bengal. At the same time, MP Kakoli Ghosh claimed support to NDA on Monday (8 June 2026).
