US President Donald Trump has once again claimed that the peace made between India and Pakistan in May was possible only because of his stern warning. Trump said that he had given a clear message to both the neighboring countries. If they do not stop mutual conflict, America will not make any trade agreement with them.

Trump again repeated his old claim

During the America Business Forum held in Miami, Trump said, “I was negotiating a trade deal with both India and Pakistan. Then I got the news that a war-like situation had arisen between the two countries. Seven planes have fallen, the eighth is also badly damaged. Then I said, “If you guys fight, I will not do business with anyone.”

Trump jokingly said that all this happened because of his tariff policy. He further said, “I explained to them that both are nuclear power countries, trade is better than war. The very next day I got a call that both the countries have agreed on a ceasefire. I said – great, now do business.”

India rejected Trump’s claim

This is not the first time that Trump has called himself a peace messenger in the India-Pakistan conflict. According to reports, he has repeated this claim more than 60 times in the last six months that because of him the tension between the two countries reduced. However, India has completely rejected this claim and said that no third country is involved in its bilateral affairs.

Before May, India had launched ‘Operation Vermillion’, which was in response to the Pahalgam terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir. Under this mission, terrorist hideouts in Pakistan and PoK were targeted. This action, which lasted for four days, ended on May 10, when both the countries announced a ceasefire.

Trump further said that he has ended the old disputes not only between India and Pakistan but also between many other countries. “Kosovo-Serbia, Congo-Rwanda, Armenia-Azerbaijan. Many such conflicts which were going on for decades, I resolved in an hour.” He said that America is maintaining peace on the strength of power and now no country wants to clash with America.

There are signs of improvement in relations between America and China. In the meeting held in Malaysia, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and China’s Defense Minister Admiral Dong Jun said that both the countries will now increase mutual dialogue and strengthen relations.

Hegseth wrote on social media platform

He said that both the countries have agreed to pursue peace, stability and good relations. Hegseth said that Trump’s “G2 meeting” has laid the foundation for long-term peace and cooperation between the US and China.

US Defense Secretary said this big thing

The Defense Secretary said that both the countries have decided that direct military-to-military communication will be started to prevent any dispute or misunderstanding.

What did President Donald Trump say?

Meanwhile, President Donald Trump also said in his post that his meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping was very successful. He said that this meeting has opened the way for “lasting peace and success” between the two countries.

The two leaders met during the APEC conference

This meeting of the two leaders took place during the APEC conference in Busan city of South Korea. Trump said that China has promised to purchase large quantities of soybean and other agricultural products from America. “This is a good and credible step by President Xi,” he said.

Experts are considering this meeting as a new turning point in the direction of increasing trust and cooperation between the two countries, which can prove important for global peace and economic stability in the future.

Trump took a big step after meeting Xi Jinping

Many important decisions were taken in the meeting between Donald Trump and Xi Jinping in South Korea. An agreement was reached between the two countries regarding tariffs, in which Trump announced that the duty on China would be reduced from 57% to 47%. The US President described the meeting as wonderful and said that this will further strengthen the economic relations between the two countries. He also said that China will soon resume purchasing American soybeans, which had been halted in recent months. Trump said that this decision will prove to be a big relief for American farmers and will help in maintaining trade balance.

US President Donald Trump has once again given a strict economic warning to China. He said that if there is no trade agreement between America and China, then China will have to face tariffs of up to 155 percent. Trump made this statement during a meeting with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese at the White House, where the two leaders signed an important agreement on mineral resources.

Trump said, “I think we are going to make a wonderful trade deal with China. This deal will be beneficial for both countries and the whole world.” He told that he is going to meet Chinese President Xi Jinping soon. Probably this meeting can be held in South Korea in the next few weeks.

What did Trump say about China?

Trump said, “I think China respects America very much now. They are already giving us a huge amount in the form of 55% tariff. But if there is no deal, from November 1 this rate will increase to 155%.”

He further said, “Earlier many countries took economic advantage of America, but now this will not happen. We are protecting our interests. This deal will be such that it will be beneficial for both America and China.”

Why is this statement important?

This statement of Trump has come at a time when China has imposed strict controls on the export of rare earth minerals used in smartphones, electric vehicles and defense technologies. These minerals are very strategically important for America.

Experts say that this tariff step of Trump is a direct response to these export restrictions of China. This may further inflame the already ongoing trade war between America and China.

The Trump administration has already imposed heavy tariffs on China, especially in 2018-19 when duties were increased on hundreds of billions of dollars of trade between the two countries. Now once again Trump has indicated that if China continues with its unfair trade policies, America will take strict steps to protect its industries and jobs.

US President Donald Trump and Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi have taken the first step towards improving the relationship, reiterating the strength of personal friendship and bilateral relations. This step is an attempt to bridge the distance created on the business agreement and the issue of Russian oil.

Modi and Trump trust in friendship
Prime Minister Modi welcomed the statement of US President Trump, in which Trump said that he would always be a friend of Modi and there is no need to worry about the Indo-US special relationship. Now the officials of both countries will jointly prepare such a business agreement, which will be beneficial for both.

Deeply Appreciate and Fully Reciprocate President Trump’s Sentiments and Positive Assessment of Our Ties.

Foreign Minister Jaishankar also expressed importance of relationships
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar also clarified that Prime Minister Modi gives great importance to relations with America. President Trump also said that he does not let India go to China. He said, “I have a good relationship with Modi ji, recently we also went to Rose Garden for a press conference.”

Reforms in bilateral relations

After giving positive indication of the two leaders, it is expected that America will stop or decrease the harsh rhetoric against India. It is expected that the two leaders will talk on the phone and will instruct senior officials to strengthen the relationship.

PM Modi’s message on social media
Prime Minister Modi wrote on X after the telephone talks with President Trump- “We heartily appreciate and fully support the positive evaluation of President Trump’s feelings and our relations. There is a very positive and visionary wide and global strategic partnership between India and America.”

The central government was assuming that the effect of negative rhetoric from the US would gradually be reduced and Trump would withdraw India from considering India close to China. India had re -established general relations with China, as well as dialogue with Russia. India also believes that the US had made it clear that the trade dispute is only a small obstacle and bilateral relations would progress normally.

Talks in security matters
India had expressed the hope that relations would be better when a top National Security Advisor of India recently went to America and met senior officials of top intelligence and law enforcement agencies in the US. The message came from the US that the business dispute is only a small problem.

Pakistan Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar has reached Bangladesh on a three -day visit. Pakistan has described this tour as “historic” because after more than a decade, a Foreign Minister of Pakistan has gone to Bangladesh. Earlier, Hina Rabbani Khar visited Dhaka in 2012. There is a discussion about this tour whether Pakistan will apologize for its role in the 1971 liberation struggle.

Why was the tour averted earlier
Ishaq Dar was scheduled to visit Dhaka in April, but the tour was postponed due to increasing tension after the Pahalgam attack. Now on Saturday (August 23, 2025), he reached Dhaka in the afternoon, where he was welcomed from many political parties.

Meeting political parties
After reaching Dhaka, Dar met Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh and National Citizen Party (NCP) leaders. Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry said that Dar appreciated the “reformist thinking and vision of social justice” of NCP leaders and emphasized more dialogue between the youth.

The NCP said after the meeting that it is necessary to resolve the 1971 issue to carry forward the relationship. Jamaat-e-Islami also demanded to resolve unresolved issues soon. No statement came from BNP yet, but Dar’s meeting with party president Khaleda Jia is scheduled on Sunday evening.

1971 issue again in discussion
It remains a big question in Bangladesh whether Pakistan will apologize for its role in the 1971 war. Foreign Affairs advisor Tauheed Hussain tried to contact this, but he did not get available. The Dhaka-Islamabad relationship was cold during the former Awami League government. However, the situation has started changing after the change of power last year and now high -level meetings are being held.

Recent tours link
Prior to Ishaq Dar, Pakistan Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan also reached Bangladesh and met the leaders there. Analysts believe that these visits will lead to new political pace in the relationship between the two countries.

Opinion of experts
Former ambassador M. Humayun Kabir says that this level of trips bring pace in relationships and give a chance to negotiate every issue. He said – “Pakistan will have to take responsibility for the massacre of 1971 and it will have to be accepted publicly.” In the meeting of Foreign Secretary level on April 17, Bangladesh again raised the issue of compensation and apology.

It was told that dues of $ 4.32 billion were demanded from Pakistan, but Pakistan did not mention any unresolved issue in its statement. Former Ambassador Rashid Ahmed Chaudhary believes that real progress in relationships is not possible without apologizing for the 1971 massacre.

New agreements and MoUs
Six agreements and MoUs are ready between the two countries. These include issues such as ending visas for government and diplomatic passport holders and formulating shared strategies on business.

India and international eyesight
According to BBC Hindi, analyst Leela Jansito says that India is keeping a close watch on this tour. He said that relations between India and Pakistan are not good and there was a conflict between the two countries in May. In such a situation, India is worried about Pakistan Bangladesh.

American analyst Michael Kugalman described it as a huge Bhurajnical event of South Asia. He says that during the 15 -year tenure of the Hasina government, the relationship between the two countries was almost stalled. Now a new beginning is happening, but its effect will be clear only after the Bangladesh elections in February. Kugalman believes that if the next government is formed under the leadership of BNP, it will try to improve relations with India, although the challenges will remain.

India’s increased tension!
Since 1971, India has been continuously supporting Bangladesh in every field. Ever since Sheikh Hasina has been removed from the post of Prime Minister and Mohammad Yunus has become the head of the interim government, Pakistan has got a chance and has been busy increasing the closeness with Bangladesh. In such a situation, when Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has reached Dhaka, India is also keeping an eye on it because Mohammad Yunus is constantly taking such decisions which are not in the interest of India.

US President Donald Trump while speaking to the media in Scotland claimed that if he had not intervened in time, there would have been a war between India and Pakistan. Trump said that he had threatened both countries to stop trade talks, averting the war.

Stop six major war, ‘Hotspot’ told Indo-Pak relations
Trump said that he worked to stop six major wars in the world, including India-Pakistan. He described Indo-Pak as a “very big hotspot” because both are nuclear-rich countries. He said that he has good acquaintance from the leaders of India and Pakistan.

Condition of nuclear war and business
Trump told that when the tension between India and Pakistan increased, he said to both of them, ‘If you are going to fight, I will not compromise with you.’
Describing it as ‘madness’, he said that if nuclear weapons were used, many countries would have joined it and there would have been heavy destruction.

Avoiding war proud: Trump
He said that it may seem a bit selfish, but it is an honor for America to stop wars. He said this in the context of the Gaza struggle, where he put a ceasefire pressure on Israel.

India rejected Trump’s claim
India has clearly rejected Trump’s claim. India said that after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on 22 April, the counter -military action was taken under ‘Operation Sindoor’, which lasted between 7 and 10 May.

India takes accurate action during Operation Sindoor
India carried out accurate airstrikes on 9 terrorist bases in Pakistan and its occupied Kashmir. More than 100 terrorists were killed in this. After this, military conflict between the two countries started on the border.

Straight without arbitration
India said that the ceasefire was not from any American mediation but after direct talks between the armies of the two countries. It has been repeatedly clarified by India that there was no mediator.

India-Rus Trade Deal: Negotiations have reached a significant turn between India and America. According to a CNBC-TV18 report, a mini trade agreement between the two countries may be finally decided in the next 24 to 48 hours. This agreement is being reached at a time when the 90 -day restriction of the additional tariff (Trump Tariff) declared by US President Donald Trump is about to end. In such a situation, this deal can become a relief for India.

Possible points and tariff rates of mini deals
According to the report, the average import tariff under this mini deal will be around 10 percent. There is a plan to fix the annual quota by putting less tariffs on some labor-dominated products to be exported from India. Apart from this, some agricultural products in India, America, such as peccan nuts and blueberries may agree to pay rates. This limited agreement is believed to be a step before the broad bilateral trade agreement (BTA), whose negotiations are likely to begin after July 9.

Trump tariff timeline: from the beginning till now

2 April
US President Donald Trump announced a 10% basic tariff on most imports. He described this day as Liberation Day and said that from April 9, counter tariffs of up to 26-27% will be imposed on those countries, which according to the US are creating unfair trade obstacles. India was also involved in this.

5 April
Trump’s first round tariffs became effective. India started negotiating with the US, reacting quickly and offered to reduce tariffs on some items such as Harley Davidson Motorcycle, Whiskey, Networking and IT Hardware. Also, there was a demand for security of areas like dairy and agriculture.

A formal structure of dialogue between India and America i.e. ‘Terms of Reference’ was agreed. This included reducing tariffs, market access, digital items. Topics such as Intellectual Property Rights were kept separate from this dialogue. India offered to give zero tariffs on some strategic imports under the PLI (Production Based Incentive) scheme and also added the condition “Forward MFN” (Most favorite nation), under which if India gives better trade conditions to another country in future, then America will get the same benefit.

9 April
Trump announced a temporary ban on implementing high tariffs for 90 days. Many countries including India got relief from this decision.

20 and 23 May
India’s Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal met American officials at Washington DC. The goal was to finalize this mini deal by the beginning of July to avoid the potential 26-27% tariffs. India offered limited exemption on American agriculture and industrial products, but excluded domestic sensitive products such as dairy and wheat. On this, Trump appreciated the initiative of Jero Tariff on some goods of India. After this announcement, there was a positive response in the Indian stock market and the Sensex jumped more than 1300 points.

There was a boom in June, but some technical issues are left
The final round of talks between India and the US began in June. Both sides exchanged legal drafts. Final consensus was yet to be reached on technical points like rules, certification, compliance, dispute solution of origin. US officials said that the deal is “90% ready”, but for the final seal it is necessary to consent on certain points.

New signals on the deal from 1 July increased and increased confidence
Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar said that the agreement would be based on the spirit of “both sides giving and taking”. India reiterated that it would keep products like dairy and rice out of the deal, while America wanted to reach the market for more agricultural products.

6 July and 7 July
On 6 July, Trump extended the last date to implement the tariff to 1 August. He appreciated India’s efforts, but also warned the rest of the countries. On July 7, US Fund Secretary Bisnt said that the deal is “very close”. This news brought stability to the financial markets and increased expectations among investors.

On the same day, Trump announced that he would send tariff letters of the first round to various countries, which would also include trade agreements. These letters will be related to the new tariff rates applicable from August 1. Trump also said that countries joining groups like BRICs will have an additional 10% of additional tariffs, including countries like India, Brazil, Russia and China.

Now India’s eyes on mini deal, BRICS membership became a challenge
For India, this mini trade agreement has now become the biggest way to avoid Trump Tariff. However, due to active participation in a group like BRICS, the threat of additional tariffs has also become a new challenge. In such a situation, where India has to protect domestic interests, the global strategic partnerships also have to be balanced.

India has set its limits on major issues in areas like agriculture and dairy for the proposed interim trade agreement with the US. So now Washington is in the hands of finalizing the deal.

Sources said that if the issues are resolved, the interim trade agreement can be announced before July 9. The 90-day fee for dozens of countries including India on behalf of US President Donald Trump is also ending on this day. He said that India has set its boundaries and now the ball is in America’s court.

Trying to finalize interim trade agreement

The two countries had announced to start negotiations for bilateral trade agreement (BTA) in February. He decided to complete the first phase of BTA by this year’s autumn (September-October). Before that, both sides are trying to finalize the interim trade agreement.

On April 2, the US imposed an additional 26 percent counter -counter duty on Indian goods, but postponed it for 90 days. However, 10 percent of the original fee levied by the US is still applicable. India wants a complete discount from this 26 percent fee. A source said, “If the proposed trade talks fail, then 26 percent fees will be implemented again.”

India does not trade agreement on the basis of time limit

Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal said last week that India does not compromise on a deadline basis and will accept the proposed trade agreement with the US only when it is in national interest. According to sources, the FTA is possible only when both sides get benefits and it should be a profitable agreement for both sides.

Only last week, the Indian party has returned from Washington after talking on the interim trade agreement with the US. There are also differences between the two countries at steel and aluminum (50 percent), vehicle (25 percent) fees.

India is also adopting a tough stand

India has tightened its stand on giving fees concessions to the US on agriculture and dairy products, because both are sensitive subjects. India has never opened the dairy sector in any trade agreement signed before.

Trump said last week that his administration is sending letters to the first group of 10-12 countries, in which the details of the counter-duty rates will be shared and the entire process can be completed by 9 July.

India-Rus Relation: American Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnik said many important things about relations with India at the US India Strategic Partnership Forum, held at Washington DC. He expressed his praise for India and expressed the possibility of a trade agreement between India America soon.

Speaking from the stage, Howard Latnik said, “I am a big fan of India and people from the Government of India also know this. One of my best friends is Nikesh Arora Indian. When I went to India, we used to go to house parties, play cricket and enjoy a lot. The time spent in India has been a special experience for me.”

“Leaders like Modi and Trump rare in today’s world”

Lonik also commented on the relationship between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump. He said, “Donald Trump is the only leader in our administration, which the people of all America chose, just as Narendra Modi has got the mandate of the whole country in India. There are very few leaders in the world which the people of their country have chosen on such a large scale. That is why his relationship is very strong and special.”

Deal may be done soon

US Commerce Secretary Howard Lanik said, “The countries who take quick steps get better deals. I think India is doing the same and I appreciate it. Earlier it used to take two-three years to form such compromises, but we are now trying to complete them in a month. A way has been found which is beneficial for both countries. “

“Business talks easier because of strong relationships”

Howard Lutnik also said that business talks between the two countries become easier due to strong political relations between Modi and Trump. He said, “When we start the conversation, the atmosphere is already positive. This leads to the conversation rapidly and the solution comes out quickly.”

An American high -level delegation is going to visit on Tuesday after India’s bilateral Trade Agreement indicated the tariff cut on US products under the Bilateral Trade Agreement. It also includes Assistant, US Trade Representative Braid Lanch of South and Central Asia.

This visit of the US delegation is going to take place at a time when President Trump has announced to install recipes on 2 April. It is feared that it may affect agricultural products, meats, processed food items, automobiles, diamonds, gold products as well as chemicals and pharma products exported from India. On which the difference of tariff can range from 8 to 33 percent.

However, on the other hand Economic Think Tac GTRI (Global Trade Research Initiative) has warned about this. The GTRI said on Tuesday that India should be cautious while interacting with the US on the proposed bilateral trade agreement, as the absence of the fast track trade authority in the US makes any agreement sensitive to the changes made by the Congress.

In this, the GTRI also said that the certification process allows the US to re -interact with it after signing the trade agreement. This demands domestic legal change, regulatory reforms and policy changes. It can weaken India’s sovereignty.
