This trade deal is very important for India because from August 1, America has planned to put a tariff of 26 percent on all other countries including India. It also includes a baseline tariff of 10 percent.

India’s effort is to remove this 26 percent tariff. India wants the US to give it a discount on steel and aluminum (50 percent) and auto sector (25 percent). Here America is demanding to increase its reach in India’s agriculture and dairy sector.
