Travel ban 2025: Travel and visa policies are constantly changing around the world. Many countries have recently imposed restrictions on tourists and migrants due to security, migration control and health reasons. The most discussed among these is the decisions of the US and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), which have tightened visa rules for citizens of many countries. Let us tell you in detail about it.

America’s travel ban

The US issued a complete entry on citizens of 12 countries in June 2025 by issuing Proclamation 10949. These countries include Afghanistan, Myanmar, Chad, Congo Republic, Equatorial Guinea, Irritriya, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen. Citizens of these countries will no longer be able to come to America on any type of visa.

Apart from this, the US has imposed partial sanctions on 7 other countries Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leon, Togo, Turkmenistan and Venezuela. This means that citizens of these countries will not be given admission in certain visa categories. However, already valid visa holders, permanent residents and some family or sports events have been exempted. The US administration says that this step has been taken keeping in mind national security and public security. In countries where the ban has been banned, the identity check system is weak, the rate of visa overstay is higher and many times the citizens are reluctant to withdraw.

UAE visa ban

After America, UAE is also in the headlines. According to some media reports, UAE has laid a temporary ban on new tourist and work visa application for citizens of 9 countries of Africa and Asia. This list includes Afghanistan, Libya, Yemen, Somalia, Lebanon, Bangladesh, Cameroon, Sudan and Uganda.

However, this information has not yet been officially confirmed by the UAE government. The embassies of some countries have denied this news and called it a rumor. But it is being said in reports that this step has been taken to prevent security concerns, document fraud and illegal migration, it is to be noted that this ban has been stated to be applicable only to the new visa application. People who have already valid visas can travel to UAE.

Why are travel ban growing?

These steps of America and UAE show that now many countries want to keep a strict monitoring on their borders. The challenges related to migration, security concerns and international politics are becoming the main reasons behind such decisions. Since the epidemic, many countries have strictly strictly tightened their visa policy so that both health and safety can be controlled.

It has become necessary for the people traveling to check the latest official guidelines before applying for a visa in any country. The US has implemented it as a legal and official order, while the UAE case is currently based on media reports. Despite this, both incidents are an indication that in the coming time more countries can tighten their visa policies.

Ashwini vaishnaw: Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav informed in Parliament on Wednesday (March 26) that several important steps have been taken to improve crowd management at railway stations. These include wide foot-over-bridge, CCTV surveillance and war room arrangements.

Railways have implemented a limited entry control system to control the huge crowd during festivals and fairs. Under this arrangement, holding areas have been created outside the stations, where the passengers are not given entry until the train comes on the platform.

Railways will make permanent holding area at 60 stations

According to the Railway Minister, holding areas were built in Surat, Udhna, Patna and New Delhi during the 2024 festive season. This system was also implemented at nine stations of Prayagraj during Mahakumbh. Based on these experiences, permanent waiting areas will be built at 60 stations across the country.

Now entry to only confirmed tickets at 60 stations

Now complete admission control will be implemented at 60 stations. Only passengers with confirmed reserve tickets will get entry up to the platform, while the waiting list and without ticket passengers will have to stay in the external waiting area. Unauthorized entrances will also be sealed.

More CCTV cameras at stations to increase security

The Railway Minister informed that 12 meters and 6 meters wide FOBs of the new design will be made which will be helpful in crowd management. Also, the number of CCTV cameras will be increased for monitoring all major stations.

War rooms will be built at big stations for mob management

War rooms will be set up at large railway stations where officers of all departments will work coordinated in case of congestion. Walky-talkie, announcement system and digital communication equipment will be installed at all heavy crowded stations.

Railway employees will get new uniform and ID card

New uniform and ID cards will be issued for railway employees so that only authorized people can enter the stations. Station directors will be appointed at major stations who will be given financial rights so that they can take immediate decisions.

Station director right to ticket sales control

Station directors will be empowered to control the sales of tickets according to the station’s capacity and available trains. GRP, local police and civil administration will also be included to ensure security at the stations.

Platform ticket will be available only under special circumstances

Taking a lesson from the recent stampede at New Delhi railway station, railway zonal officers have been empowered to control the sale of platform tickets. However, platform tickets will be issued under certain special circumstances to assist the old, uneducated and women passengers.
