Talking about the tri -series, it was decided before this match that the final would be played between New Zealand and South Africa cricket team. Zimbabwe could not win any match of the Tri -series being played at his home ground, he lost all 4 matches. While New Zealand won all four matches. South Africa won 2 matches and lost 2 matches from New Zealand.
