US President Donald Trump on Tuesday (9 September 2025) announced that he would start dialogue again to overcome the business problem released between Indo-US. Trump posted on his social media platform Truth social and wrote that I am happy to say that India and America are continuing talks to remove trade obstacles. I am keen to talk to my very good friends, Prime Minister Modi in the coming weeks. Trump expressed confidence that this conversation will bring successful results for both countries. His announcement has come from America recently a few weeks after 50% tariff on Indian goods.

President Trump earlier this week gave the status of a very special relationship to Indo-US relations. He had said that Prime Minister Modi and he will always be friends. However, he also said that he has disagreed with some policies of India at this time. In a conversation with ANI, when he was asked if you are ready to improve relations with India, Trump replied that I would always be ready. I will always be a friend of (Prime Minister) Modi. He is a great Prime Minister, but I do not like what he is doing at this time. However, relations between India and America are very special. There is nothing to worry about. ,

Prime Minister Modi’s positive response
After President Trump’s remarks, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also reacted on social media platform X. He wrote that he deeply appreciates President Trump’s feelings and positive assessments of bilateral relations and fully support him. PM Modi said that relations between India and America are moving towards a broad and global strategic partnership. He expressed confidence that the partnership of both countries will bring positive results for the world.

Political approach and global partnership
This partnership is not limited to trade for both India and America. Both countries are strengthening strategic partnership for stability in the Indo-Pacific region. Partnership in the fields of energy security, digital technology and innovation has become important. Experts believe that Trump and Modi’s personal equation can further strengthen this partnership, even though business differences sometimes come out.

Talking to the news agency IANS, Jindal said that according to me it is a bad decision that due to which the pace of America’s economy will be slow and the consumers there will suffer more damage and this can affect global trade and can also cause recession globally.

He further said that our government is solution oriented and takes a decision after seeing the situation. The central government also tried to negotiate with the US about tariffs, but the US was imposed a counter tariff. This decision can affect the exports from India to America. Fio, a federation of exporting organizations, said on Thursday that 26 percent of the US fees imposed on India would undoubtedly affect domestic companies. Fio Director General and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ajay Sahai, however, also said that India is in better position than many other countries. He hoped that the proposed bilateral trade agreement (BTA) on which talks between the two countries are going on will soon be finalized. This can provide relief from these counter -charges.

Sahai told the news agency PTI, “We have to assess the impact, but given the reply charges levied on other countries, we are among those who faced the lowest fee. We are in a much better position than our major competitors like Vietnam, China, Indonesia, Myanmar etc., we will definitely be influenced by fees, but we are in much better than many other countries.

US President Donald Trump has announced a ‘concession counter duty’ of 26 percent widely on India. Trump showed a chart while announcing the fee which showed the fees levied by countries like India, China, Britain and European Union.

The chart indicates that India has imposed a fee of 52 percent ‘with’ currency ‘tampering’ and trade obstacles. America will now collect 26 permissions ‘concessional counter -duty’ from India.

The US President said, “India, very, is very strict. It is very strict. The Prime Minister (Narendra Modi) has just gone from here. He is my very good friend, but I said, ‘You are my friend, but you are not treating us right. They charge 52 percent fees from us … ”FY 2021-22 to 2023-24 America was India’s largest trading partner.
