US President Donald Trump has said that the US and China agree that Iran should not have nuclear weapons and that it is necessary to keep the Strait of Hormuz open. Trump made this statement after a three-day official visit to China, where he met Chinese President Xi Jinping. While talking to reporters in Air Force One while returning from China, Trump said that America is maintaining control over the Strait of Hormuz. He claimed that due to America’s naval blockade in the last two and a half weeks, Iran has suffered a loss of about 500 million dollars every day.

Trump also mentioned talks on Taiwan issue. He said that Xi Jinping does not want any kind of conflict or fight for independence in Taiwan because it could lead to a major conflict. Trump said that he listened carefully to Xi, but did not make any comment of his own on this issue. Trump said that there is a good understanding between the two leaders regarding Taiwan and Iran. He told that there was also discussion regarding the sale of arms to Taiwan.

America does not want to get into any major foreign war: Trump

Journalists asked Trump about the 1982 US agreement, which stated that the US would not consult China in the decision to sell arms to Taiwan. On this, Trump said that that agreement is very old and the current situation is different. He said that he discussed this issue openly and he will take further decision himself. Trump said that at this time America does not want to get involved in any major foreign war, especially a conflict that is thousands of miles away. He said that America is currently in a good situation and it is important to maintain peace.
