A shocking case has come to light from China, which has exposed the danger of blindly trusting superstition and online treatment. Zheng, a 23-year-old youth living in Zhengzhou city of Henan province of China, found it difficult to trust a so-called traditional medicine. Following a folk remedy suggested online, the young man took a step that no one had even imagined. Now the whole matter is becoming increasingly viral on social media.

Young man took dangerous step while seeking online treatment

According to the information, Zheng read or heard a claim somewhere on the internet that live leeches provide “miraculous benefits” to the body. It is not clear from where he got this strange advice, but it is certain that he was so impressed by this alleged treatment that he decided to try it. After much effort, Zheng found a live leech about 5 centimeters long and purchased it.

Live leech inserted into body through urethra

After this the young man followed the instructions given online and made a big mistake. He put the leech inside his body through the urethra. Initially he might have thought that its effect would be visible after some time, but exactly the opposite happened. The leech got stuck in the urethra, blocking the passage and causing severe pain to Zheng. Within a short time his condition became so bad that he was not even able to urinate.

Sticking to the inner walls of the bladder, the young man suffered dangerous pain

The pain did not stop here. The leech crawled to the bladder and stuck to the inner walls there. Along with sucking blood, leeches release substances that prevent blood from clotting, due to which the risk of internal bleeding also increases. Struggling with unbearable pain, Zheng was forced to go to the emergency room of a local hospital.

Doctors immediately decided on surgery

When Zheng told the whole story to the doctors, they too were surprised for a moment. After this, an ultrasound examination was conducted, which clearly confirmed that there was indeed a live leech present in the young man’s bladder. Seeing the seriousness of the situation, the doctors decided to immediately undergo surgery.

A team of doctors led by the deputy director of the urology department of the hospital performed the surgery to take out the leech through the urethra. After much caution, the leech was successfully removed. After the surgery, Zheng started urinating normally again and his pain gradually reduced.
