In Palamu district of Jharkhand, a case of encounter has come to light between the Tritiya Sammelan Committee (TSPC), a faction of security forces and banned CPI (Maoists) late Wednesday night. Two security personnel were killed in this firing while another soldier was injured. The injured have been admitted to Medinirai Medical College and Hospital.

How did the encounter start?

The encounter started in Kedal area of ​​Manatu police station area of ​​Palamu district at around 12:30 pm on Wednesday. According to officials, security forces campaigned after receiving intelligence information about the presence of TSPC commander Shashikant Ganjhu and his squad. As soon as the security personnel reached the spot, the Naxalites started firing on them, which made the situation tense.

DIG gave information

Palamu Range Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Naushad Alam told the news agency PTI that two security personnel were martyred in the encounter while one injured is undergoing treatment. After the incident, additional forces have been deployed in the entire area and the area has been siege. Security forces say that during the encounter, the Naxalite party escaped towards the forest and their search is on.

Further action and safety strict

Police officials said that after this attack, security arrangements have been tightened in Palamu and adjoining districts. Security forces are continuously conducting search operations to prevent Naxalite activities. At present, the injured jawan is undergoing treatment in the hospital and the situation is closely monitored by top officials. This incident has not only shocked the police force but has also indicated that the Naxalite threat in Jharkhand has not yet been completely abolished.
