Vikram Gokhale was born on 30 October 1940 in Pune, Maharashtra. His father Chandrakant Gokhale was also a veteran actor of Marathi theater and films. Vikram Gokhale was not only a great actor but also a director, he directed the Marathi film ‘Aghat’ in 2010. He was awarded the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award for his contribution to theater and the National Film Award for the Marathi film ‘Anumati’. In 2016, he retired from the stage due to throat problems and died on 26 November 2022.
